My dad is friends with an outdoor guy, survivalist type who was brought in as a consultant on that movie for things for random things that may be found in Fed-Ex packages that could be used in a survival type situation and got paid over $10k for like a week's work.
When I asked him how he got the job he said he was camping in a state park, was hang drying clothes in his underwear and was approached by a producer he thought was lost and the next thing you know....

this story is complete made up BS, as evidenced by the fat guy and the fat healthy dog, both of which would be skin and bones if this story were in any way real. unless they were getting uber eat deliveries 3 times a day, neither he nor the dog, missed any meals
