And who is pushing back that’s not a boomer? Who is shouting about the money printing? Debt? Spending? Bloated entitlements? All of them who aren’t booomers? 32 Senators could form a hell of a coalition.

Or are most of the millennials waiving in the illegals with cheers and ebt cards?

Wait a min… I thought the boomers were soaking up all the social security to leave the younger generation high and dry??

Now we are supposed to be angry because they won’t leave, stop paying into social security, and jump on the dole?

I’ll just say that I think the world changed a lot on the boomers watch without them seeming to notice or care about what happened next. They seem reluctant to “pass the torch” but also like to say “you are going to have to live in this world” or “I worry for my grandkids” but fail to realize their generation is still the one in control.

I think that may be more of a function of age groups then generations though. What I believe is one of the main problems of the country’s direction is parents directing their kids to go to college or bust, instead of having the mindset that you need to prepare your kids to be on their own. This has left a bunch of worthless young adults that are “educated” looking for a way to contribute.

The only correct answer is whatever generation(s) predominantly occupy elected positions across the federal, state, and local levels. Those are the people making policy decisions regardless of how someone feels about the answer. They created the programs that increased dependence which led to the behaviors of today. It’s not complicated.

It's no one generation's fault. We were decades ahead of other countries after the war. Our economy boomed. We led the way economically and socially. Prosperity and capitalism brought about the ability to innovate. Innovation is on the whole good, but sometimes companies are a little too quick to market with products that hurt the populace. We became fat, tired, complacent, and dumb. The sugar industry, as well as companies that mass produce food items ladened with preservatives, fricked us. That's the cause, IMO. I think the obesity rate is the cause and all of the other shite (entitlement, lack of critical thinking, laziness, greed) is a symptom of the fact that we are so fricking fat. Now other countries are starting to catch up. They are getting fat, too.

This + our election system on all levels has been rigged in one fashion or another to allow the elite the final say, and thus control as they are fit.

We live in a banana republic, but more and more people are finally waking up to it.

The question is: what is there to now be done about it, now that the system is rigged.

We need strict voter I.D. laws coupled with paper ballots, and extreme chain-of-custody verifiable by true forensic capability, and backed up by serious prison time. It’s the only way I see out of this mess, but I don’t see a way to it presently.

Its progressively gotten worse because we have kicked the can down the road for decades.

We are all to blame. Wealth and comfort are not inherently bad, but most humans cannot handle them without becoming raging pussies.

I accept full responsbility for how fricked up the country got. I even tell all my older friends it's our fault we let it happen.

For reference, I’m 30 and hoping to build a house on a few acres. Nothing crazy, just a big yard for our dogs and a little bit of space between houses. If you aren’t aware, this is unfortunately becoming an unrealistic goal in this country. Prices of homes anywhere near us have gone up 200k-300k since 2020. Once you add in the 7% interest rates these days, you can start to see why the younger generations have such a negative outlook on the future living here.

I’m a boomer, but when he started to raise my family I bought a 1600 square feet starter home in the burbs. I had it easy. I only had to put up 20% to get a 9-1/4% mortgage rate.
Since my home was in the flood plain, I had to purchase flood insurance too.

When our second child was on the way, we decided to move to a larger home in the burns out of the flood plain. I was able to secure that mortgage for only 11-1/2%. We managed.

Now I hear younger folks bitching about the debts we’ve left and I understand. I didn’t like paying for the debt from WW2, the Korean War, or for SS and the Great Society, but I did.

Now I am disappointed mortgage rates or up to 7%, but believe me you guys will survive. If I can survive 11 you can survive 7. Trust me.

Boomers traded their families and values for materialism. They never considered they had to choose one or the other and they were incapable of teaching millennials about the values and traditions that made America to carry on.

Millennials spent their childhood on big corporate toys and gadgets with left wing Hollywood values being shoved down their throats with every American Pie movie, every new Britney Spears song, etc.

Boomers just thought their era had always been and always would be...but it wasn't even close. Their era was a massive exception to the norm of history and you can see the veil starting to lift and reveal exactly that.

Boomers were the first to adopt "pop-culture" as the norm for growing up, where everyone tries to mimick celebrity lifestyles, follows celebrity relationships and happenings etc.

No generation before the boomers was this involved with isol worship.
