What’s even better than a leprechaun? A leprechaun who gives Cheez-its and $107 as parting gifts.

The exact number is irrelevant. Point is they are looking to get paid.

That begs some questions
Since they had her phone from the road (grass) and it was originally reported as kidnappimg - could they have gotten a judge to let them gain access?
Or if not then but they still had it when she came home - and if she refused to grant access when she came home - if they still have it can they get a judge to give them access due to investigation?
Another random question. If she is under investigation currently can they give her an order that she can’t leave the metro? To avoid flight risk?

Every media person is laughing at NBC for getting sweet frick all out of their interview money. They will not buy the family a Coke now, unless they agree to full, invasive, disclosure. Payment to be rendered once a real interview is taped.

the daughter likely si I'm sure. Idk abotu the parents though...early on in this process weren't they adamant about not donating anything or starting GFMs and only contributing to crimestoppers?
They put down $453K to purchase their home so I doubt they're hurting much. If I was them I'd want to stay as quiet as possible rihg tnow

I have zero idea how the law works but if she hasn't been accused of committing a crime at this time would they be able to do that?

Left behind at the scene, it’s evidence so yes.
They also have her call records, so they can subpoena records of people she spoke with to gain GPS data during their calls.

When the chief was reading his opening statement, he thanked the various law enforcement agencies who assisted in the investigation, including Secret Service. I thought Carlee might have been involved in counterfeiting somehow. But it was Secret Service who cracked the phone.

Absolutely they can and will. The felony crime she'd be subject to is making the false claim of her abduction. She should be fiscally responsible for all monies spent by the tax base in response to her LIE

I'm just talking shite on a message board so I have no idea what is happening but they would be the exception not the rule these days. They better have some cash squirreled away somewhere because their daughter may need it for legal fees.

Those are reasonable if there were any doubts that she faked the whole thing. But based on the evidences accumulated and presented during yesterday’s conference, I think there is extreme to zero doubts that her version of events is bs.
I think Smollet may have more supporters willing to believe his story than Carlee.
Thus, accessing her phone maybe reveal the accomplice that picked her up after she abandoned her car, but would do little to further incriminate her.

Her “plan” pretty much invited data being quickly compelled from provider at least for a set time frame around 9 1 1 call. May have been able to get cellphones pinging servicing tower or towers for short time frame as well (or run numbers Carlee called to see if in area).
Toddler in diaper walking alone by interstate, calling police to scene herself, car left running with personal items found inside and around it, a witness hearing her scream over phone call & phone dropped with only HWY sounds afterwards, and disappearance of both Carlee and toddler by time cops arrived.
Probably granted quick approval to get into her actual phone and/or stored cloud data to see if video or pics taken of kid or anything else that could help search, but like someone has mentioned that might have required using an agency that has access to tools to do so. That’s assuming parents didn’t know passcode and just gave cops access initially. They probably at least shared their 360 data.
At some point the police may have needed to seek warrants based on another crime to continue accessing her data or getting more.

I'm a little embarrassed to say, but I'll be very disappointed if there's no new info before the weekend.

You know her parents help (or fully) fund her expensive lifestyle. She may have screwed herself out of all of that with this stunt. I wouldn’t be giving her another penny except to cover her very basic needs.
