Quality product, or is it just an ok product with a name attached to it?

I would say Cartier is quality
The faces in general are too small for my taste but theyre nice watches

Wife rocks a Cartier watch. It's very high quality..
I only have an Apple Watch. I can't speak on them for men

A true dress watch is going to be thinner and smaller than the typical diver's watch most wear.

I'd wear a Cartier Santos but it isn't at the top of my to-buy list

frick that company for suing everyone under the sun for using the name "TANK" short of the US government. I thought it was a bitch move and I'll never own a Cartier because of it.

Cartier is an OG in the watch game.

I wear a Ronde Solo De Cartier with my suits. Far more appropriate than a submariner.

I have a Cartier Santos XL. Look into the history of Cartier and you will see they help basically develop wrist watches.

Get the Lonzo Ball edition

The santos was one of the first wristwatches ever made. Unbelievable history. Cartier as a brand has been gaining popularity over the past 5 years. The tank is the classic dress watch. Their round face watches dont speak to me, but I would wear the santos or tank in a heartbeat.

All in all, it is a fantastic brand.
The inexpensive stuff, ie, Tank Solo, is not too impressive, but the Cartier Santos - particularly in medium - is a really great option.
Cartier shines once you go a little higher. The Tank LC is always a classic choice, and I love the Cartier Privee collection - the Tank Normale in platinum this year was fantastic.
And, of course, the best Cartier watches range from neovintage, particularly the CPCP range, to the vintage, particularly old Cintrees and weird Cartier London 60s designs (crash, pebble, etc.). Unfortunately, the most desirable of these are nearly unobtainable.
Personally, I am not too interested in the entry level stuff, but I would love to pick up a CPCP Cloche or a 70s Tank Normale.

I respect them and their history, but I've just never had any interest in a dial with Roman numerals.

id rather allocate the cartier money for a Tudor, Breitling or Omega… something with heritage that has been worn by men doing great things.
Cartier owners strike me as efetes from NYC area

Cartier is THE OG in the men's wristwatch game. Literally.
I have no issue with Cartier for men but I have never owed one.
My preference for a tank is a JLC Reverso, ever so much more interesting IMO and the Duos are like two watches for the price of one.
I will say flipping them can be addictive and I find myself doing it when I am bored when I have mine own. Probably not the best idea for longevity.

Cartier, the creators of the wristwatch, is not just a name.
