They can be comical or dramatic. I'd like to see one of each.
There should be a lot of good offerings. Please post a link to for all to enjoy.
Here's a sentimental favorite dramatic:
The Ambush that created the Lone Ranger:
Start at the 7:17 Mark
Comedic Ambush: Inspector Cousteau Vs. Kato
LINK
I'm sure there will be more spectacular ones offered.

Lone Survivor. The entire mountainside ambush action was tense as hell.

I remember watching one about cops getting ambushed that was incredibly realistic and sad to watch. I can’t remember the name of the movie - I’m thinking end of watch but I could be wrong

Last Of The Mohicans (M. Mann remake)
There are two, actually:
Magwa escorting Col. Munroe's daughters to the fort
Magwa and Hurons come out of the woods to attack the
English forces and militia retreating under a peace
agreement with the French.

... This could have been "End Of Watch". Damn good and underrated movie.

My favorite scene of The Patriot, when Mel Gibson and two of his sons ambush the small British force to save his oldest son.

Sonny getting killed at the toll booth was almost comical as was the killing of Sean Connery's character in "The Untouchables".
Sonny gets shot by about 8 guys with Thompson machine guns and manages to make it out the car before finally dying on the road.
Connery's character gets lit up by a Thompson machine gun fired by Frank Nitti and takes dozens of hits but still manages to crawl back inside his house and be alive when Ness rushes to his house.

When John Rambo takes out Teasle’s posse in First Blood if that counts.
I wonder how the battle in the forest with the National Guard would have turned out if it had not been for Rambo sparing the boy who gave up his position and led to him being pinned down in the mine. Was Rambo prepared to kill all those guys? Seems like it wouldn’t be possible to merely disable them all. It’s harder to just injure someone without permanent damage and when you do the screaming is going to give up your position. He can overcome that vs. a half dozen police officers but 200 men would be tough.
