These are options I see for Bud Light going forward

1) Do a complete about face, and basically go all in on right wing/conservative culture. Completely gut the DEI dept, CEO, marketing, etc. And issue a full throated apology explaining why they were wrong.
By doing this, they would likely at minimum gain back the consumers they lost. And may even gain additional consumption via other people coming to them and supporting. Would take a hit from any left wing drinkers they have. Would take a hit on their ESG score and may lose capital financing from big banks and asset managers.
2) Go completely left. Totally cut off all support from the right and much of regular normies. Would have to depend on left wingers, and rainbow warriors to hold the brand together. Who by all accounts don't drink light domestic beer. But may pick up some sympathy support. Would definitely score some woke points with the ESG gods which could help.
3) Keep treading water in the neutral zone they are trying to live in. Piss off the left for not being on their side enough, and continue to face heat from their loyal consumers they lost who now see BL as a "gay beer"
4) Just give up on the brand. Replace it with something else, same ingredients and try to start back from scratch as a basic bro beer, and see if no one notices it is basically Bud Light in a different can.
The other factor to consider is how does the brand damage effect downstream brands at AB or InBev overall? Certainly Budweiser, Bud Lime, Bud ICE, etc (anything with Bud in it) takes a hit. I have ti imagine Busch Lite takes a hit. Michelle Ultra has always been kind of a yoga mom beer, so no telling how that might be affected, but probably has taken some hit.

Didn’t read. You’ve put way too much thought into something this meaningless though.

It would be fun to watch heads explode on the left if it went full MAGA.
imagine taking the first 3 min of this video and making it a beer commercial?
After a hard day in the bush war?
Relax with a Bud!

They’ll likely opt for #3 and try to ride it out, hoping people’s memories are short.

Problem they have is that they aren't just dealing with a boycott, where people eventually lose steam. The brand is tarnished, and not cool now. No one wants to be the guy at the golf outing or hunting camp or at the lake caught with the Bud Light.
I was at a birthday party for my wife's 90 year old great uncle. And people (evem random boomer type aunts and millenial/zoomer cousins) were there cracking on Bud Light. I don't see it just "going away" any time soon on its own, without some sort of change in strategy.

I don’t disagree with you; I just think that’s going to be their strategy—waiting it out.
Not saying it’ll work.

Just saw a new commercial where they show everyone from the farmer to the waitress. Couldn’t find any customers for it though

Just wrote this in the other thread
Because InBev is so woke they cannot go back. They are just taking hits. That brand may be over. Hope for a Pabst renessance (sp)

They will try and buy a brand. I think they’ll make a run at Yuengling. The family will be offered an obscene amount of money.

You do realize it is still the #1 or #2 selling beer in America right?
Just because their market share shrank doesn't mean they can't still exist as the #2 or even #3 selling beer. If that were the case how have beers such as Coors and Miller existed all this time?

They’ll just buy another brand while quietly trying to rehab BL over the next ten plus years. Kinda how InBev got Bud Light in the first place. It’s what huge companies do when they have a bad few quarters. Try not to think too hard about it.

Their biggest problem is that, for many, this isn’t an active boycott anymore. People have just moved on and are buying the brand they used to replace Bud Light.

The only thing that Bud Light can do is stop selling Bud Light.
Anheuser Bush needs to cut its losses and make $$$ on another brand entirely. There can be no apologies at this point. And it’s basically pissed off everyone. It’s not weird and obscure enough for the left wing types who always get pissed when their favorite band gets discovered, so they won’t use it as a go to. And it’s basically made itself to toxic and divisive to be served at large gatherings. Nobody wants to be seen drinking it.
Bud Light’s only option is to rebrand entirely as a Gay Beer, marketed entirely to gay people. Just embrace it and own it. The guy who steals women’s luggage is probably looking for a job he can wear pencil skirts and a mustache to work and hire all the Dylan Mulvaneys he wants. Bud Light’s days as a mainstream staple are gone forever.

You do realize people are getting laid off and distributing is freaking out and paying people what they would have made. If it’s NBD like you suggest then why do anything?
Posted on 7/3/23 at 5:30 pm to burger bearcat
Obviously No. 2 is they way they should go. They can’t recover, so might as well give their old customers a big frick you.
Posted on 7/3/23 at 5:30 pm to burger bearcat
#1 is the only option. Let this be a reminder of how powerful “we the people“ really are. Don’t let anybody tell you different…
Posted on 7/3/23 at 5:36 pm to burger bearcat
they could do Option 1 but still support the same thing through AB InBev, their parent company.
