+ Transfer Portal.

Transfer portal is the real disrupter of college athletics. If NCAA and whatever future entity that governs D1 football would reinstitute the mandatory transfer sit-out year, it would stabilize things.

I assume that anyone who transfers has an NIL deal in hand. Agree on sitting out a year though

Lol Which sports bar? I can’t imagine any restaurant or bar wouldn’t have game because of UL or any of their weirdo super fans.

ULLLL fans have no problem cancelling a Lafayette bar for showing LSU games but see no double standard when they pile on the bama clothes when bama plays LSU. As for LSU buying Crews & Skeenes, that comment just shows that they have no clue what both do with their NIL money. And conveniently forget that ULLLL still holds the record for its number of major NCAA violations in basketball, best I can recall, 120'ish.

Here’s the deal, Pete’s is the title sponsor for Cajuns athletics. They ran an LSU promotion for the CWS title game. Every UL fan knows that every sports bar will have the game on. But to have the title sponsor of your program run an LSU promotion is a slap in the face to UL.

That’s all there is to it.

I get it but it's not like the Cajuns were playing at the same time..

If the Saints play on Sunday, I wouldn't expect Pete's to say "we will NOT be showing the Falcons on Monday Night Football!"

Restaurants closing left and right.. not exactly a great time to turn away business out of spite

Literally no one does that. There are a bunch of Bama grads from Louisiana though. Especially since they waive out of state tuition for Louisiana residents. Or have in the past.

This. Bama fans in Louisiana are typically the yankee / lakers bandwagon fan types. That’s not the type of fan that typically pulls for the Cajuns (which are mostly alums)

I’ve seen way more “bama” fans in BR than I have in Lafayette tbh
