In 1974 Nolan Ryan purportedly threw 235 pitches in a game against the Red Sox. He would start another game 3 days later, pitching 6 scoreless innings.

This is an absolute ridiculous take
If they wanted him to go throw another 100 pitches you’d have a point, but if he’s scheduled to throw 50 pitches in the bullpen anyway why wouldn’t you just do that in the game instead?

If you can't understand the difference in throwing pitches in the bullpen versus throwing pitches in high leverage game situations then I can't help you and you should probably just move along.
