Maybe these golf pants that only come down to above the ankle and have an elastic band. Idk why they are all the rage.

That is exactly what “tailored pants” means in this context. It’s a nice way of saying don’t wear your trashy “sweatsuit” golf pants to our club

Movie star Randolph Scott tried to join for decades, unsuccessfully.

Years after he retired from movies he was finally allowed in as an old man

They are smart. Too much shite out there with money these days and money doesn’t equate to class. And I personally like No Celebrities.

You can be sure they would be enforced, if necessary. That’s not likely to be necessary, tho. Clubs like this seriously vet perspective members. If there were any chance, you would not observe the rules, there’s no chance you would be approved for membership.

Was in one of the oldest men's clubs in the US just before c19, they had a "no cell phones" rule and it was strictly enforced. They catch you and you buy a round for everybody in the place. Since they had lots of Pappy my guess is this got real expensive real fast.

Personally it was nice. The rules were there to allow everybody to relax and be away from the wife and kids and the folks had great live conversation.

You Guys are looking at his from the Cheap Seats.
I ran private yathcs for a long time , Bartended their big Partys.
They all needed a Bartender, Boat Captain.
I was the first person in a bunch of these big shots lives to tell them..your full of crap..as I handed him his cocktail.

By the end of the night the guys were all gathered around me and the Bar talking smack.
Couple days later they would all jet off to Big Business and I' d be there with the wives at poolside just Helping out..

I would love that

I appreciate the no phones and pictures part.

It’s basically signing up to something like Dan Blitzerian does with the girls around him. In a sense, you are signing a non disclosure so no one ends up in a picture accidentally

I respect the rules, just not how I roll. I'm a very casual person and don't like all the pretentious BS that really doesn't seem reasonable at all.

I could have Bill Gates money, I would still be uncomfortable going to a club like that. I am a pretty big tennis player and always have hated playing at uppity places for tennis, it's just not me. I imagine I would feel the same way if I were a golfer.

Well, seems ok. If I don't wear tailored pants then I don't wear pants at all.
