Looking to try somewhere different this season.
Anybody have opinions about Whitefish? Will have a couple of non-skiers in the group so will need something else to provide a little entertainment for them.

Big Sky is replacing six shooter with an 8 pack heated bubble next year. Pretty much fixing the last remaining major choke point, Boyne is putting a ton of money into the mountain, it is impressive to see.

Whitefish is a decent Apres town but it’s pretty small and wouldn’t offer more than a half day of shops to check out if not skiing.

I am headed to Whitefish or a one day trip next week. I was wondering if anyone had been this season.

Met a lady visiting from Lakeview on the lift today at Bogus Basin. If she or her family are reading, enjoy your stay in Idaho and apologies for the lack of snow!
Was sunny and warm 46 up there today with lots of trails closed due to lack of snow and others with lots of dirt and roots showing. They haven’t even been able to crank the snow guns too often because of the warmth and high humidity. Hoping for some snow next weekend.

Great pics man. I'm even more pumped about my first trip there now. The pic with the lower level clouds is awesome.
I'm staying at Whistler Creekside <5min walk from the gondola.

Planning a trip to Breckenridge. Wife and I have never been skiing. How many days of skiing would one recommend? We're thinking 2 days but wife is insisting on the group lesson that takes half a day, so my gut is telling me three days. Any input?

Awesome. That’s a cool side of the mtn near some great runs. I’m a little jealous bc the trails are opening up nicely according to their website. They must have been getting some good snow lately. I’m not sure where you’re coming from but if it’s Vancouver that drive is the most beautiful stretch of road I’ve ever been on. . Hard to keep your eyes on the road with so much jaw dropping scenery the whole way. Hope y’all have a great time.

Get the lesson plus two more days.

3 days is the way to go... and I'd recommend 2 on, 1 off, 1 on. You'll wants that rest day to recover.
I'd even say 2 days of lessons to get to blues, which unlocks the majority of the mountain.
I know people that never want to progress past that and love to ski.

Looks like the pattern changer is finally upon us....Waves of snow moving through the west, with very cold temps following the last storm.

Skiing solitude and Brighton today, they got 3" overnight with another 5-9" today. Tomorrow night into Sunday another 8-12" which makes for a great salt lake weekend

That should soften things up nicely, Sunday looks really good. I'm heading to SLC next week, can't wait just one more day of work to get through.

Lessons day 1/ practice what you learned the 2nd half of the day.
Day 2- ski more
Day 3- rest, hot tub it up.

Seems to have been a really dry 2 weeks everywhere. That really sucks for overall base.
Hoping this pattern stays for the next month or so.
Got 3 weeks left, and I'm hoping everything gets opened up by then.

It’s been a dry season in the states in general unless you’re in Alaska

Heading up the canyon can be a PIA but I love Brighton

First day in Colorado on the 19th, I hope all of this comes true

We took the bus today, surprisingly easy experience to deal with although the bus did get stuck twice on the way back . Probably going to take it up to snowbird on Sunday given the 12-18" new forecast

Today was great at Brighton, solitude was okay in spots but generally needs more snow. Did ski the honeycomb area off the summit lift and it was great up top, but battled moguls and rocks the rest of the way down. About 19,500' vertical, 19.7 miles of skiing. It's been a long but great day

Whenever we do a trip to ride Snowbird/Brighton/Solitude, we get a cheap AirBnb in SLC and ride the bus each day. It’s normally a very easy experience, especially coming back when you might be exhausted after a powder day. We did have one day when we got on the bus and then sat on it for over 2 hours as the road up the canyon was closed before they finally opened it
