The Murder Rate is Suddenly Falling: The first five months of 2023 have produced an encouraging overall trend for the first time in years - The Atlantic

Here's some good news for a Sunday morning!

Murder is down about 12 percent year-to-date in more than 90 cities that have released data for 2023, compared with data as of the same date in 2022.

Murder is down 13 percent in New York City, and shootings are down 25 percent, relative to last year as of late May. Murder is down more than 20 percent in Los Angeles, Houston, and Philadelphia. And, most significantly, murder is down 30 percent—30 percent!—or more in Jackson, Mississippi; Atlanta, Georgia; Little Rock, Arkansas; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and others.

Wow, election season must be coming up huh? Amazing how all the numbers start to look good across the board right as election season gets close.

I mean it had to drop. COVID was a great time to be a criminal combined with all the anti cop BS. People are sick of that shite now.

It's pretty clear that we had a spike in 2020 due to Covid, the riots, and police response due to both. Now that things are normalizing, it's not shocking the murder rate is also normalizing.

Can we compare how the current statistics are collected and compiled versus prior years? This seems like the unemployment data- it always gets revised somewhere down the line. Usually on a Friday afternoon when no one is really paying attention. Might want to review how they classify crimes now too since many of these cities are Dem controlled.

Good thing for the idiots bragging about this is that 2022 was so high so it's been a hard task to keep up.

The interstate shootings and car jackings have all but stopped in Nola. But the car window bashings are at an all time high.

Maybe the population went down bc they are shite holes and less people available to be murdered. People are moving out of those shite holes.

This just means more inexperienced shooters are involved. Request the non fatal shooting stats and get back with us.

This is wonderful news, and I think that all congressional officials and the president and vice president should go walking the streets of all these major cities at night without their private security, like the rest of us commoners.
