Communists dominate the DC suburbs. No real surprise.

No Republican is going to win Virginia in 2024.

Youngkin won it by 2%.
DeSantis won Florida by 20%.

Don’t adopt the loser mentality. Even if we don’t win it, if we make it close that means we probably win the electoral college vote.

Neither of those races are relevant to a POTUS election.

Do you think the GOP will win Minnesota, Oregon, or Massachusetts? I don’t, but that doesn’t give me a “loser” mentality.

VA being closer is a symptom of wider GOP success, not the cause of it.

Sinking money into VA is a mistake. That cash is better spend in NC, GA, AZ, WI, and NV.

Louisiana and Kentuckys governors are Dems. Massachusetts and Maryland are Reps.

Governor elections mean frick all with regard to POTUS years.

Youngkin himself would lose VA by 8-9 in a Presidential election.

A good candidate may be able to make it close or win it.

Trump cannot because he isn't a good general election candidate.

I think he has a shot. I think DeSantis would win it for sure.

I just don’t see many swing type voters who broke for Biden the first time be willing to swallow their pride and vote for Trump the second time. Those type of voters will be few and far between.

I think you may have missed the headline:
"Virginians concerned about direction of the state and nation; Youngkin approval down; national political anxiety up, especially among Democrats"

That’s a credibility hit for you then.

There is absolutely zero indication that any GOP candidate would be within 5 points of winning Virginia. Gubernatorial races, especially off-year ones, are totally irrelevant.

The US Congress in the early 1860s recognized the right of Virginia counties to withdraw from the Commonwealth. Maybe the counties in southern Virginia should take a look at the earlier actions of their neighbors to the northwest.

I was talking about DeSantis’ chances in the general, not Virginia.

The part, to me, that is absolutely bonkers is that 45% of dems in Virginia think the country is going in the right direction. That is insane. That number should realistically be zero for dems and for republicans. Maybe 4% who want the country to be set ablaze.

Probably has a lot to do with Fed workers that know Trump could come in and slash their jobs.
