I thought he was very underwhelming as a pitching coach this year.

What? They have probably the most fertile recruiting area in the country and are the biggest dog in the state (no pun intended) where every kid grows up wanting to go there.

They will be recruiting against better programs in Florida and South Carolina. FSU and Clemson are no bums. Then toss in Coastal Carolina.

He has his work cut out for him.

I love the Kendall Rogers tweet just now

"UGA was unwilling to play premium dollar for a head coach... limited options to assistant coaches or mid major head coaches"

Enjoy the island of irrelevancy in baseball UGA

Georgia baseball is not some sleeping giant

the Atl metro has the biggest concentration of elite high school players in the country. If they invest in baseball at all, they could be very good.

However, judging by this hire, it doesn't seem they are willing to invest

Crappy timing. He’s got to get started working on transfers and keeping players from leaving, recruiting, etc asap.
He may finish the post season here but will be certainly distracted

I’m assuming he stays. Not ideal but,Wanaka was a pitching coach before.

This is a business. Not mad about it at all. It could’ve waited to be announced after the season finished but who cares. It’s hard to do that in the world we live in today. As long as our pitchers keep performing well I’m cool.

So did Vitello at a much more difficult place to recruit baseball players.

Meh, baseball recruiting is much more national than other sports and they have actual competition from GT, unlike football.

UGA baseball doesn’t scare anybody

I won’t be a douchebag like that dude. Southern Miss head coach is retiring and promoted their pitching coach.
