This won’t ever happen. So I’m not sure why anyone would even ask that question of either candidate.
I know it isn’t you, but you have to see the humor in the OP saying the issue with trumps tax cuts is that they were too big.

Sure. The issue is that he spent like a drunken sailor on the other side of tax cuts.

Does it matter? Congress is not going to do this.

"Does it matter?'

It couldn’t be any more skewed than it is right now. I thought y’all were all about people paying their fair share?
Who is y’all? I agree people should have more skin in the game and I have no idea what a fair share is supposed to look like. But a flat national sales tax is extremely regressive and disproportionately burdens the poor/working class.

Are you suggesting that a bill cannot cut spending? lol

I am telling you that the Code does not address spending. The TCJA was a change to the Code. It’s pretty straight forward.
A bill to change the Code cannot address spending. You didn’t know that?
Clearly you don’t know how the process of changing the Code occurs. It’s not a big deal. You are ignorant to the process. That isn’t unique.
I’m positive you don’t know the reason for the sunsets….right? Did you know about the sunsets? Do you know what sunset means?
Also, just to confirm, your biggest issue with the change to the Code was that it cut taxes too much….right? Did you know about the sunsets! Do you know what sunset means?
I should clarify, because clearly you need it. Any reference to the Code is a reference to the Tax Code.

OK technically you are correct... it has been six years. I thought I remembered that they did the tax bill within the budget deal using reconciliation to get it through. The budget deal THAT TRUMP SIGNED was an ONMIBUS deal separate from the tax bill (that changed the code)... SO BACK TO POINT ... TRUMP signed the budget deal that did address spending. The TRUMP signed the tax deal that went too far relative to the Spending bill that he supported. The two TRUMP supported bills blew up the deficit and added to the national debt.
It is when he said "never again" ... yet he did it AGAIN and AGAIN... blowing up the deficit and adding to the national debt.
... back to the OP... Trump pac continues to lie about DeSantis tax position and to my knowledge nobody in the thread posted something that I saw that stated Trump supported eliminating the IRS for individual tax payers. Curious, do you?

Not technically. I am correct.

TRUMP signed the budget deal that did address spending.
Which has nothing to do with the TCJA.

Nobody actually supports eliminating the IRS because it won’t ever happen. There is nobody on this board that hates the IRS more than me. I get shite on constantly for being a one issue voter (taxes). I fight the IRS every day of my life. It’s my profession.
You seem like a good dude. I don’t mean to shite on you. But you clearly didn’t know how the Code works and your singular issue with the TCJA is that it cut taxes too much. Not sure how you reconcile that with your conservative principles
I think you just hate trump and got confused. It’s ok. No biggie.

Re read my post.... I know how the bill changed the code. Lord have mercy ... you were correct on the tax bill. I said that TRUMP supported the budget ... which was indeed separate from the tax bill. Combined that led to the deficit and added to the national debt.
You are suggesting that lowering taxes is a more conservative position than balancing the budget. Really? Why don't we just cut the Corp rate to zero and eliminate all taxes?
Re "Nobody actually supports eliminating the IRS".
I support it. A lot of people do. Do I think that will happen ... probably not, and definitely not in my lifetime. Does not mean we don't support it. I support a consumption tax IF we protect the elderly who have already been screwed by income taxes their whole lives.
There are a LOT of things I support changing ... like the wording in Section 1 of the 14th. Do I think that will happen... maybe, but probably not in my lifetime. There are lot more.
No, I do not like Trump as he is not a conservative and I think he is a moron ... which is supported by the things he says every day.
But to be clear ... you were right.

The only bill that changed the Code was the TCJA. You have made your stance very clear. Trump cut taxes too much

No. I suggest that lowering taxes was lowering taxes. You thought he lowered them too much. We get it.

As do I. But it won’t ever happen. We need pragmatism, not dreams.

I know. And as I said before, you seem like a good dude. I’m not getting after you. We probably agree on 99 percent of stuff. What we don’t agree on is that the tax cuts were too much.

Got it ... but one last thing ...
"We need pragmatism, not dreams"
... glad our Founding Fathers did not think that way. There were plenty who did at the time.
... could be the difference in you being an accountant and I was in the business of making things happen. Just different mindsets. ... I think we might only agree 75% of the time. :)

Except Ron didn't "throw it out there". The "fair tax" has been around and debated long before DeSantis got into the House.
