For all the "decent human being" simps itt, humans haven't been "decent" since the beginning. There is a lot of indecency that goes on that is way worse than being disappointed in a kid you know coming out as gay. Waaaay worse. And who are you to tell this guy what he's supposed to believe as "decent"? Maybe he doesn't share the same values as you.

I would guess the general trend is something like this.
(Age when step father comes into the picture)
0-4 years - dad
5-12 years - father figure
13-22 - that dip shite banging mom
22+ - a good friend and mentor
With exceptions of course.

SJWs who believe gay kids are fragile and its 100% on the step parent to validate the kid despite the circumstances, whatever they may be.

He said the kid is moving away in August. That’s when school starts.
Most likely the gay kid is 17/18 and about to go to college.

There's a pretty wide variance in what a stepdad can mean
My mom started dating and eventually married her now husband when I was 20 years old. While technically he is my stepdad, I don't refer to him as such.
We butted heads almost immediately. I was in college, lived at home and it was less than a year since my dad past. After he came over when I was home for the 4th or 5th time he told my mom that I didn't make him feel welcomed. If I was home when he came over I was usually studying, it wasn't anything I did intentional, but I told her if he feels uncomfortable then don't come over when I am home.
That sentence was like the first shot in a war between him, my mom and me for about a good 10 years. Today we acknowledge each other, but if I have a conversation with him I just have to listen to him and just say "yeap". Sometimes I think he still trying to tempt me into engaging with him because he knows it will turn into an argument.
But that's different than marrying a woman with children still in grade school. Once the kids are adults it doesn't matter, but if a man marries a woman who has children who are not adults, the man (or if its the other way around, the woman) should take on full responsibility for the person they are marrying children.

Live with - yeah, don’t have much of a choice on that one
Support - hell no.
Overall shitty situation for all parties involved in sure.

I went through this. Two kids, one was younger and accepting, the older one wanted nothing to do with me.
I could never replace her father, which is understandable

If your take away is that he is simply “disappointed in a kid,” then you’re an idiot. The vitriol in his tone is visceral.

Housing, food, transportation means the kid is supported.
But thats not enough for some, I suppose.

You can try every day of your life, but if an older kid doesnt want to deal with you, then you will never have a parent/son relationship.

There are many people across the world who would be disappointed in their kid (even though it's not his kid) who would be disappointed in the child's choices. And you're calling all of those people bigots. Therefore, being an "indecent" human because you don't empathize with them.
Why do you empathize more with the teen's feelings than the father's? Because you're trying to take some ambiguous moral high ground. That is all...
You prove my point by resorting to name calling. You don't care about "decency".

She's programmed to defend gayness so it has to be the dads fault.

I like my mom's husband. He's a good man. It's just that I don't think of someone that married my mom when I was 24 and long since out on my own as a stepdad

You really have a problem bro, may God grant mercy on what’s left of your soul.

When kids get to middle school age, recognizing a step dad as an authority figure is a very hard road.
I would not have accepted a step dad as a teen.

If your homosexual kid wants to frick a girl, let him. If he wants to frick a boy, tell him he is too young to date.
