If what you're trying to say is: LSU doesn't have the distinct advantage that they used to, I agree.

If you're trying to say we're just a middle of the SEC team, then get off

Basing this off of what? Tigers have home field advantage for regional, would have home field advantage in a Super and would need to win 2/3, something they have done pretty much the entire year. The pitchers behind Skenes have given reason for hope recently. Some people love to prematurely melt, how about we let them play first then melt.

He said likely. He didn't say it was impossible. I agree with him.

LSU needs to stay out of losers bracket in regional...and would have to sweep in Super, IMO.

Top 8 is nothing to sneeze at. Pitching injuries and defensive gaffes will probably lead to super regional loss.

Juaron watts-brown
Sean Sullivan
Brandyn Garcia
Janzen Keisel

There were others, those are just names I remember off the top of my head.

If Pulmonary had this squad, I doubt we would be talking about national seeds.

Sport, welcome to the year 2001.
It seems that youve missed a few things...

They showed other schools that you can be profitable if you put the resources towards baseball. Now outside of Missouri the entire conference cares about baseball.

LSU makes a small profit. Do the others? Perhaps State and a few others, but that profit is a drop in the bucket.

TV TV TV

That’s funding everything. TV from football.

There’s so much money coming in all of the lesser sports prosper. The SEC is very competitive in them all. Baseball gets plenty of money now. Coaches, equipment, facilities and everything else is there now. SEC baseball is thriving.

No shite LSU doesn't have the advantage

Are you new to baseball? It has been happening for a long time now. I'd say we're doing pretty damn good all things considered.

I love LSU baseball as much as anyone but I think we are ignoring reality. Unless LSU kind of took the SEC tourney off, the hitting issues are real. Last year, although pitching struggled (Skenes is a major improvement this year) LSU could outhit everyone. That’s not happening right now. If hitting doesn’t improve quick, I’m not sure they make it out of regionals. If I’m wrong I will gladly admit.

It’s almost a foregone conclusion we will be paired with another SEC team. The committee is going to want to limit the number of SEC teams in Omaha by doing this.

I love lsu baseball as much as the next person. And what people fail to understand, is if lsu does not score more runs than the other team, they will lose.

This opinion is just as ridiculous.

They did well against SC, ran into great pitching against Arkansas, and had trouble with RISP against A&M. There were no patterns to be gleaned based solely on the SEC tournament. Each game was different.

Overall, yes, since the Auburn series, LSU has struggled driving in baserunners on average. There are at least three reasons not to consider that predictive of the future. First, they were very good at driving in runners in the first 7 SEC series and nonconference, which shows that not being able to hit with RISP is not an inherent flaw in this team. Second, even though they struggled on average down the stretch, it was not a consistent pattern reflecting the randomness that happens in small sample sizes and again showing this isn’t an innate flaw in the team. Finally, every study on the issue has consistently shown that hitting with RISP mirrors overall hitting over time. LSU was still getting runners on base at a strong rate during the cool down. Over time, they will drive those runners in.
