I loved watching boxing at an early age, back in the late 60s I was watching bouts on TV. I remember going to Pappys on Ryan street in Lake Charles and they had a huge selection of magazines. My dad loved to read, mostly about firearms and cars, but he would buy me boxing magazines. I couldn't get enough reading about the old fighters, Marciano, Dempsey, Sugar Ray Robinson, etc.

Anyway, some of my favorite boxers all time are Joe Louis, Duran, Marciano, Dempsey, Arguello, Salvador Sanchez and Ali.

Who ya'll got?

All of the above mentioned. Loved Sugar Ray Robinson’s style, Marciano’s rawness, and no one hit harder than someone like Sonny Liston (although many give him a bad legacy for the Ali fight).

Although they are not my favorites, Naseem Hamed was a fun watch with very good technique and feet, albeit cocky. But, the guy that was an absolute terror that seems to be forgotten by many is Ike Ibeabuchi. That guy’s fight with David Tua was an all-time classic slugfest that probably damaged both boxers in the long run. However, an incident in Vegas and other things prevented him from seeing his potential as a heavyweight champion.

Modern day I like Tyson Fury for his length and unorthodox style, yet cagy defense. Mike Tyson will always be my favorite though just because of nostalgia and nobody had seen anything like that before that time.

Always loved Tyson. Rooted for old George Foreman. Enjoyed Prince Naseem Hamed's style. Always thought Emmanuel Stewart took away his edge by trying to make him more of an orthodox fighter.

Antonio Tarver because he put Roy Jones, Jr. to sleep.

Other favorites were John "The Animal" Mugabi, Vernon Forrest, and Miguel Cotto. Both Klitschko brothers were terrific fighters. Vladimir was grossly underrated. After he fixed his defensive issues, he was one of the most dominant boxers of his era. He won something like 21 fights in a row over 10+ years. Hearns, Sugar Ray, and Hagler provided tremendous entertainment. I was a huge Hagler fan during that time. There are so many great fighters in my lifetime that this could go on for days.

I watch every Sat night.

Historically some of my favorites are Hagler, Sugar Ray, Foreman 2.0. Oscar was fun to watch in his heyday.

I actually met and had dinner with Roy Jones one time. Roy is probably my all time favorite. He's a very down to earth guy. He gave me a pair of his gloves and autographed them. I also have Bernard Hopkins and Holyfield's signature on the same pair of gloves.

Currently my favorites are Vergil Ortiz, Loma, Wilder, and Spence.

I wish the sport would make a comeback. I can only imagine how awesome it was to be in NYC during the golden era, taking in big bouts at the Garden or one of the other prime venues.

I loved Watching Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran bouts. Enjoyed Ray Mancini and rooted for Gerry Cooney.

My stepdad and I used to go to Lafayette and watch amateur junior fights all day.

I grew up in a boxing gym in West Monroe, LA and got to meet lots of pro boxers even though I was just an amateur during my boxing days. My uncle who
ran the gym and now his son trained several champs going back to the 80’s and also trained fighters for the Olympics. I met Joe Frazier. He was great. I moved to Houston and trained at Kenny Weldon’s in Galens Park and met Evander. His sparring sessions were interesting. Obviously I grew up watching Iron Mike so he is a favorite of mine although I like retired Mike better. Maybe my favorite though is Big George. When I moved into my
second house in Kingwood in 2001 he lived on an entire cul de sac one block over. Got to know him pretty good.
