That site was too small for a retractable roof. So the architects had to change it. I didn't realize retractable roofs took up so much real estate.

That LED scoreboard across the top is going to be amazing.
And at first glance, I thought that Jack Meof was up to bat

I love how it took the sports world to tell the world what a shitehole Oakland has become... Oh and In-N-Out burger announced to America too...because the MSM certainly has ignored it.
Everybody leaving. The great Oakland exodus...

It’s demonstrably false and most people should know that without even having to look anything up.
I knew the average was around 40,000 without looking it up. Hive mind is a crazy thing.

Exactly. The place is going to be fire. Vegas fans will love them just like the Raiders/Golden Knights
Crazy how fast Vegas has gotten all these teams. They for sure will get an NBA team

Raiders fan...wouldn't even contemplate going to a game when they were still there.

The renderings are awesome but the big problem is no one gives a shite about The Athletics. “Honey, let’s take a trip to Vegas to catch an Athletics game” said no one. The Raiders move worked because they used to be in Los Angeles so they had a lot of fans already in Vegas and the surrounding big cities (Los Angeles and Phoenix). For this work, it needs to be with a team that people actually care about and that has a strong fan base.
Explain the Golden Knights.

JFC that location is going to make a traffic nightmare. It is already bad there.
Vegas mayor posts here?
Majority of people will be staying nearby, likely? Anti-braves-moving-to-Cobb crowd tried the same argument, but it’s infinitely better than it was in crack town.
I bet the developers have done the research.

The A’s actually have a bunch of boomer and gen x fans. But who would ever go to Oakland? Nobody. Zero. Zilch.
Who will make a trip to Vegas? A shite ton. And fans of every team will love to make the trip. And then you have people just looking for something fun to do while in Vegas. I’ll go.

No

The Golden Knights are good. The A’s ownership is notoriously cheap. They are historically bad right now but that can change, however their current ownership has never shown they are willing to spend to any degree which will make it tough for them to sustain any sort of success

First thing that came to mind when looking at those new renderings:

No, I was replying to someone who didn't and fixed their quote that people are going to indeed travel there to watch their favorite teams play.

They need a retractable roof when they would only get like 1” of rain cumulatively throughout the entire baseball season?
Posted on 3/6/24 at 12:16 am to LSUGent
The Brewers stadium mess is why I wouldn't want a retractable roof. The Diamondbacks are also now wanting more money to fix their roof.

I live in San Francisco. Some of the stuff the media says about SF is true. All of it is true about Oakland. That city is rough right now. Some great restaurants though.
