‘God is Trans’ exhibit at ‘very liberal’ NYC Catholic Church raises eyebrows for take on gender identity
quote:
The “God is Trans: A Queer Spiritual Journey” display at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle has some parishioners scratching their heads — and seems to run counter to the Catholic Church’s stance on the transgender community.
“The church should not be promoting this,” one irate parishioner told The Post. “I understand there are transgender people. I pray for all people but enough is enough.
“It seems like they are trying to force the agenda on others,” they said. “Also, when a friend asked a priest about this they didn’t answer. You can’t put this out on the altar and then hide. That’s what gets the church in trouble.”
The display by artist Adah Unachukwu is described as a queer spiritual journey in three steps: Sacrifice, Identity and Communion.
According to the exhibit, Sacrifice represents the need to “shed an old life.” Identity is described as “the most impactful part” of the display, asking the question, ‘What does holiness look like?’ Communion places “God and the mortal on the same plane.”
While some took offense, others saw it as representative of the traditionally liberal Big Apple parish.

To bad this church did not collapse on 2001.
But if I was parishioner it would not get my soul to sit inside such a devil's hole.

I refuse to engage in this nonsense by reading about it. Can someone help me out and confirm that these evil blasphemous morons’ “argument” is that God has both male and female attributes?
Of course He does. But God isn’t a sexual being. Therefore he can’t be a “transsexual” being. He doesn’t “procreate” and create little Gods. He creates. And He created male and female humans. He also allowed the fall to occur, so He has allowed both physical (rare) and mental illness to distort sexuality and “gender.”
This is just bad theology from any Biblical (and most other religious) perspective.

It’s a shame that the Vatican doesn’t condemn this. The article said that parishes can essentially believe what they want on this topic in spite of the teachings of the Vatican. If a selling point of Catholicism against Protestantism is the unity through institutional control, the Vatican better step up its game on trans issues.

Since there’s no link, I thought that I’d provide one. LINK

"We had no knowledge of it beforehand," the spokesperson said. "If media reports are accurate, then we would have concerns. We are investigating and looking to speak with the pastor of the parish to get more information."
This exhibit, probably along with the Pastor will be gone in a matter of days, if not hours.

It's hard to fathom the level of depravity that has invaded the church.

Christians are SUPPOSED to be different from the world.
Their values are SUPPOSED to be different and visibly so.
Years ago, I began the process to become a Deacon in the Catholic Church. The required course was "Liberal Theology" from Loyola University in New Orleans. I stopped attending after the 3rd 10 week course. I thought it was attempting to "water down" Christianity.
That was over 20 years ago, I'm sure it's become worse.

If nothing else, this shows how things have changed since the time of Jesus.
Blasphemy was a capital offense in that area and was what he was nominally convicted of.

There's no need for any confusion on this issue. What the Roman Catholic Church believes is right here in the published and comprehensive book of its Catechism.
No parish priest or layperson can change the written doctrine of the Catechism. No "art exhibit" can change the written published Catechism.
Here's the Catechism - right here.

God is trans. Transubstantive, that is.

I wish the Bible had predicted all of this...oh wait, thats right....it did.

From an organization that habitually abuses kids and covers it up, something like this shouldn't come as a surprise.

God is merciful and kind. We must always remember He waits for the penitent sinner to return to Him. But He expects the sinner to fight his evil inclinations. We all have them.
That includes those who practice deviant sexual practices.

I'm guessing this church serves Bud Light instead of wine at communion.

With that being said, it seems this particular parish has been pro-LGBTQ for a long time. I'm curious why they've been allowed to promote such things.
