That’s what you got from my post? You think I’m picking on Jones? Good lord the world is fricked!!!

Right field has been the biggest hole in the batting lineup.
None of Pearson/Jobert/Kling have gotten it done at the plate with any consistency.

I mean yea, kind. Jones has several towering HRs to RCF. I dont think you can just 'pitch him away'.

As consistent as LSU has been up to this point, they are a hard team to predict because of this. Is it a slump, or has the prince turned into a frog?
Think about that- you're relying on a guy to hit .500. He's now down to .456, and the offense is slumping.

I don't think we're relying on him to hit 500. He was 2/12 with a walk against Auburn. He was a non-factor. I think you hope your best hitters goes better than 2/12.

I mentioned this earlier, we need to establish a player or players (lefty/rightie) at that position. Now with Kling finally healthy we can.
We may be able to go leftie/rightie at DH too, but tgere are two issues here. If the rightie is Trevinski then we have no back up catcher, if the rightie is Jones and Morgan moves to first then we have a hole in LF.

.304 79/AB 24/H 4/HR 7/BB 23/SO .402/OB
.213 75/AB 16/H 0/HR 18/BB 19/SO .333/OB
.276 105/AB 29H 6/HR 11/BB 30/SO .374/OB
Sorry but I’m riding with Kling.

I mean you kinda can, especially when you get ahead, just not a fastball on the outer half. You can throw junk away and he’s more times than not, swinging at it. I would say a majority of his 32 SO’s are on bad pitches, or good, depending on if you're the pitcher.
He’s still a great hitter; and probably the next great. I’m happy with him in our lineup and what he has produced, just piggybacking off the other poster.

I also don’t expect Crews to ever go 2 for 12 on a weekend again. It is bound to happen at some point but he has proven over 3 years this isn’t going to be the norm.

He’s .172/.226/.345 in conference play.

Before he was injured he had a leg up, but recently he hasn’t been doing very well.

He slumped, we lost the series.
He produces like he had been doing, and we win game 2, taking the series 2 of 3. That looks a whole lot like all our previous series before the Ole Miss one...
Skenes wins game one. LSU wins 1 game in a bit of a slugfest, where Crews produces; and gets beat the other.
This weekend, Skenes wins, Crews does NOT produce in game 2 (0-4 with lots of runners in scoring position) and we lose by 2. Difference between this series and all our previous 2-1 series.

He’s had almost half the ABs than the others. It’s time for a change. Let Jobert sit for a min. Put Pearson in your lineup if you don’t like Kling, I’d be okay with that, I’m just feeling Kling right now.

It really does come down to that. If Crews produces in Game 2 as he has all year, LSU wins the series and the narrative is far different right now.

-Gavin Dugas is 5-33 since being injured at Kentucky. He's struckout 14x. However, in SEC games since then, he has 5BB & 7HBP. In one of the crazier stats ive ever seen, he has been hit by a pitch in 9 straight games.
I don't think his hitting numbers are going to stay down like they have been. He is starting to get healthy, I really think that shoulder injury messed with his rhythm offensively.

That’s what Johnson is doing. All 3 got starts against Auburn and Kling also started against SLU. He just looked terrible in both starts this week.

Overall, the median numbers for the SEC are .265/.374/.462
LSU without Crews/White: .243/.385/.432
A fair comparison is to take out the best two hitters for every sec team and compare to LSU without crews and white.

How is he getting healthy? Did you see him in obvious pain after a simple throw to first yesterday? He is a long way from healthy unfortunately.

That may be true, but he still got on base 7 out of 15 times this weekend and slugged .500. LSU can certainly survive with that level of production.
