Cary Elwes accent in Twister - is it an all-time bad one?

Watching Twister on AMC tonight. Saw it in theaters twice when I was 14… it’s a classic obviously.
However, Cary Elwes regional accent is up there with Dennis Quaid in The Big Easy and James Vanderbeek in Varsity Blues as being cartoonish and distracting.
“Unreal-iiiiiiiiiized idea, unreal-iiiiiized” haha

His accent in Princess Bride was great. Days of Thunder, too.
Did you know Elwes is from generationally old English money? Quite the background.

I would say Kevin Costner in Prince of Thieves, but apparently he was so bad at it, that he just stuck with his American accent.

Watching Twister as well. Such a good movie and def a 90s movie. Can’t believe Bill had to choose between Gertz and Hunt.
Gertz is a billionaire and part owner of the Atlanta Hawks along with her husband. So she did very well for herself.

Halfway through he just said frick it.
He was able to speak Lakota fluently in like three weeks in Dances With Wolves. Weird.

Definitely. PSH nailed his role per usual, Paxton is as likable as any actor of his generation. Gone way too soon for both.

I think that was point of his character. A pompous arse, with a voice to match
Think Elizabeth Holmes

Ive heard legends of a peculiar southern accent from Nic Cage in Con Air... never watched that movie, though, so I couldn't say.

Damn good movie. One of my favorites. Bill Paxton and Philip Seymour Hoffman were fantastic in this movie.

Other than Princess Bride, this pretty much sums up every role he has ever had.
