I don’t see Floyd coming out of the weekend rotation. He struggled on Saturday but he was solid the previous two weekends. You just have to live with 2 homeruns a game.

And 4 walks with a couple hit by pitch.

Blake has improved , he has talent but needs to keep his fastball lower in the strike zone. Pitching coach has had a good influence on Blake as well as the other pitchers on the staff.

Hurd could possibly go deeper in a game, but I doubt no matter how Coleman performs, he will probably max out at about 60 pitches this season. I'm very happy he's pitching again, but we can't get greedy and just need to be happy that he will be able to give us 3-4 good innings.

Why? I don’t see how he can’t ramp as our other pitchers have. He’s fully cleared.

Floyd has similar era than the top Friday night guys in the league besides Skenes

Pay attention to how many runs are being scored in College Baseball as a whole this year before you make your judgements

Whoever is on the mound for LSU they have got to understand the importance of getting ahead in the count by throwing strikes immediately. Floyd looked like a seasoned major leaguer agains Ole Miss where he often started batters out 0-2.

Almost every time we get in trouble it is due to walks and/or falling behind in the count 3-0…

Floyd isn't going anywhere. You have to deal with him having a bad inning or two. He has the potential and stamina to eat up a lot of innings.

Little is the only starter that we could potentially see a change. Hurd/Money/Herring could all see an opportunity here IMO. I would prefer to leave Herring in the pen, he's been too viable in that role.

So your saying maybe we don’t start Skenes game one? Because we do t need him to win against a 4 seed? Probably a smart move.

The previous two? He had four bad outings in a row before last week. Now it's 5 out of 6. He won't lose his job yet, but if he doesn't pick it up, and anyone else steps up, he shouldn't keep his spot just because.

Hurd was good this weekend but has been terrible lately. I would give him a few more relief appearances before making that decision.

So who else even has the capability to get through 5 innings? Money is the only other pitcher who’s ever even done it in the SEC and it’s not going to be him. Floyd is the only guy who can actually be a starter and even if his ERA remains between 4.50 and 5.00 that’s still under 3 runs per start which is fine for this team.

Random question…Does anyone know where I can buy LSU baseball player cards? My 7 year old wants some.

Didn’t want to start an entire thread about this. TIA.

Hurd may be more comfortable coming out of the pen.

Is it possible that those three could be our weekend starters soon? Or in post season? Coleman and Hurd are getting better and getting confident.

In the limited time he’s had to pitch, Coleman certainly looks like a starter. The question is will he be healthy enough before the season ends.

The walks have a lot to do with the pitches called. Full count breaking balls, over and over. Only chance to not walk them is for hitter to chase. Not many breaking balls thrown or called, by coaches for strikes. Coaches would rather walk them. Not on the pitchers.

You can have Skenes, Skenes and Skenes but if you can’t field your position, it’ll kill all three of them. LSU has moved down to 8th and whil not as bad as last season, it is creeping down and is now down to .976. Now down to 58th in NCAA.

BS.

A&M, Ole Miss, and OU fielded .966, .972, and .972 respectively last year and were part of the final four in Omaha. Arkansas fielded .982 and nothing to show for it.

Agreed. Floyd isn't going anywhere. 3rd starter is the only spot up for grabs right now.

Little is close to being that guy, but I could see Coleman or Herring moving into that role.
