It’s not, it takes courage. What is cowardly is struggling through each day in absolute misery but knowing you are too big of a pussy to end it.

I’m going to be taking a break from posting on here for a while.

The Lord never promised us a rose garden on earth. What awaits is worth working toward.

I agree honestly. Folks that say it as a universal blanket statement is either:

1) basing it on an attention seeker’s behavior
Or
2) have zero empathy for what others are going through. And that it’s not typically an singular bit of adversity that they can’t “get through,” often not realizing how many suicides suffer in misery for years while putting on an outwardly brave face even while they seek professional help. They can just think about how they were made to feel…..while they call the other party selfish.

Things will get better if you give time a chance. Killing ones self solves nothing. A lot of us have been where you are.

Happiness, pain, joy, suffering are all temporary. Death is eternal. Best wishes and may you find some peace.

He has fought his demons for a long time and is probably weary from the struggle.

Hopefully he regains his strength and perspective before taking the irreversible action but it’s not quick or easy to let the time pass.

Sending you positive vibes, Walrus.

I hope so, as well. I have known people that believe themselves to be nothing but a burden to those that love them. That everyone would be better off if they weren't around. Depression is a very real and destructive thing. Whatever he is going through, I hope he finds solace.

because it takes immense courage to face problems that you’d rather die instead of face. That said, many people say suicide is a selfish act because it really punishes the people remaining who care about you, though I suspect many people who commit suicide have rationalized that the remaining folks would be better off.

Both are wrong IMO.

Sorry if you lost someone. I’ve lost two.

It’s not courageous. Courageous is living. Seeking help.

It’s not cowardice either. It’s illness. They are drowning in depression. The other part of the illness is they believe people want them dead or that loved ones will be better off.

bullshite. Dying is easy. Living is harder. Waking up everyday and fighting the fight is courage. It's strength, even if you don't feel it. Don't think you are better off dead, or that everyone else around you are better off without you. That's horse shite. You make an impact on this world and on others around you. Don't rob them of that impact, and likewise, don't rob yourself of the impact that will surely come down the road.

Remember this. It never stays night time forever. The light will come, and a new day will begin.

It is a selfish act on the part of anyone who has folks who care about them...it is very damaging to those left behind in such cases. On the other hand, if terminally ill with little to no hope and nothing but weeks and months of debilitating pain which is only going to end in death it is a very courageous act...and a very humane one.

If a person has no one in their life who will miss them it is merely an act. Anyone who would consider it with young children or a spouse or an aging parent or siblings or friends who love them it is a selfish act at best...about as selfish as selfish gets.

FIFY

Living takes the real courage. The rest is just the selfish act of a self absorbed individual just thinking about the easy way out from reality. If you are contemplating such an act, find a person 10 times worse off that you and become their caregiver for at least 6 months to a year.
