Things to do in Seattle near the Space Needle?

Staying a day or so before going on an Alaska Cruise. What is the best thing to see or do in Seattle near the Space Needle?

Chihuly glass museum is right at the Space Needle and is amazing

I lived halfway between the space needle & pikes places on the water for 2 years. Here are my recs to sprinkle in a little local flavor.
Myrtle Edwards park(good city views, on the water and Mountain View.). Very nice place to walk near sunset.
From there you can walk down Alaskan towards the city. Once you get fair enough down you’ll see the Ferris wheel and those peers are very touristy for wasting time.
Have a beer or food at Old Stove and try to sit outside. If it’s a nice day it’ll be tough but with it. Incredible views of the mountains, water & port.
From there you’re right in Pikes Place. Enough said there.
South lake Union area is cool to pop around on. You can ride a bike over from the space needle area
Cool drink spots:
Fog Room - make a reservation. Rooftop bar with killer views.
Deep Dive - speakeasy inside the Amazon Spheres in south lake Union(SLU)
Bathtub gin & co - speakeasy in an alley in Belltown.
Cannon - best cocktails I’ve ever had. Incredibly tough to get a seat inside but worth it if you can.

If weather is nice, visit the Space Needle. It is a part of Seattle Center, the former World’s Fair grounds. Chihuly Garden & Glass, as recommended above, can be added on in a combo pass.
Also at Seattle Center is MoPop (former Experience Music Project) where there is a ton of music and pop culture items. If with kids, I also recommend the Pacific Science Center there.

Piggybacking on this thread. Going to the PNW next week and flying out of Seattle. I'd love to take the kids to the Museum of Pop Culture.
I was looking at maybe storing our luggage using Bounce somewhere near the airport and then going see the museum. I don't want our rental car full of luggage in the city.
The advice was to avoid 3rd. Is that north or south of the Space Needle/Seattle Center...or both? Just trying to get a feel for what areas I should not drive, park or wander into.

Pink Door on Post Alley.
Take a water taxi from the Ferry Terminal across to Alki Beach for the views and maybe eat at Salty's.
If you can spare some time away from downtown & the Space Needle, the Ballard area is cool for the locks and nearby bars & restaurants. Bainbridge Island is worth a day trip too.
