Restless Leg Syndrome

I've had nearly constant restless leg syndrome for about a week now. It keeps me from sleeping. I think I've had maybe 6 hours of sleep total over the last week. I'm so freaking tired. Anyone else experience this before? Its incredibly annoying.
(Sleeping pills aren't enough to overcome it either)

I have been there. I tried many, many things that provided some temporary relief but ultimately didn’t work. Finally I tried amputation and it has taken care of the problem. Another unexpected positive outcome is that I now receive disability payments from the government.

I find when my middle leg is being restless I give it a good beating and it'll calm down.
Hope this helps.

People joke about it, and I get it, but it’s incredibly annoying. I experience it off and on, but I’m still able to fall asleep, and once I’m out it either subsides or it’s not strong enough to wake me up. I’ve found stretching before bed helps a bit too. I’ve heard gabapentin can also help.

It’s bad for me. I tend to sleep on my stomach and on thing I’ve found is making a figure 4 with my legs. Bend one knee and put my foot on the back of the knee with the other leg. It’s like funneling electric current. For some reason it helps.

I first got it as a kid. My parents cure for it was to get me a drumkit. I at least funnel the energy in to something creative. Doesn't really help with sleep though

Have you recently stopped taking pain medicine that you were previously taking for months?
I remember when I was young I was taking lortabs every day for a couple months and then quit and didn’t realize I was having withdrawals.
At the time I didn’t know you could become physically addicted that easy. Now I know after years of battles with it but at the time I thought I was just having fun.
The first symptoms were jimmy legs and not getting comfortable enough to fall asleep. Also your eyes will water like crazy . That’s just the initial symptoms

Serious question: how old are you and did you serve in war?

Had a sleep study done and my legs were moving over 200 times per hour. Dr prescribed Mirapex and it has helped me a ton. He wrote it twice per day, once at supper and once at bed time. I'd usually forget the supper dose and just take the one at bed time and that works 95% of the time. If it's bad and keeping me awake I take a second one and it eases my legs up so I can go to sleep.
