Del Rosario may be 6’5” and the #1 post player coming out of HS. But if you watched the McDonald’s All-star game, she looked slow-footed and not in shape. She’ll struggle against quicker, more experienced centers in the SEC. And likely get in foul trouble early. I trust Coach K will work on her foot speed and get her in shape. She’ll be a valuable backup as a freshman, but isn’t ready to make immediate impact in the post. She does have a decent outside shot, including outside the arc. And she showed some court awareness with a couple nice passes. But expectations for this year need to be tempered and a solid experienced post needs to be found in the portal.

There is one from Cali that was in the portal.
I’ll sit back and watch Coach Mulkey do her magic!

seems she wants the PG role just handed to her. Not going to happen and I don’ see Kim agreeing to that.#2 she wants to be the big name on the team, not going to happen as long as Reese is on the team…
Does this really seem like anything Mulkey would not be able to handle? Really?

The Stanford player is transferring to UCLA.
Morrow is LSUs first post choice out the portal (visiting in the next couple weeks) but I imagine Kim has plan B if that doesn’t pan out but she is prioritizing Morrow and HVL right now

Yea, I watched the McDonald's game as well and I didn't come away thinking that. Yes, she probably will need to work on her conditioning.....................like most freshmen. I don't think she looks slow at all for a player her size and I thought, in the post, her footwork looked pretty good. Her being able to knock down three point shots was a bonus that I'd not expected and, even though she didn't show it in the all star game, she's a VERY good passer from the post. I don't think Kim will start her but, I DO believe she's going to get significant minutes.

Could she start on most teams if needed? Yes, she could, but she won't have to at LSU.

She did have decent moves in the paint. When I said she needed work on her feet I was thinking defensively, beating opponents to the spot. If she doesn’t, she’ll be prone to getting in foul trouble. Some of that will come with coaching, some with conditioning. She’ll get there. Just maybe not in her first year.

Let’s look at the situation *From everything I read, it seems she wants the PG role just handed to her.
What. The. frick?
She’s probably the best point guard in the country. Of course she’s going to have the position “handed” to her.

Don't know that this is the case, but if she comes to LSU, we'll know who it is by who is wearing #10.

Reese ain’t changing her number. HVL would just choose another one much like when Reese came to LSU, she wore another number since Payne already had it but got to wear 10 after she left the program in the fall
I don’t understand half the nonsense in this thread. It would be to Reese’s benefit that a talent like HVL come in. Elite perimeter players will only make life much easier for her and others in the post.

They don’t play the same position. So you’re saying Reese has to give her blessing. Is this Mulkey’s team or Reese’s?

Where did you read these things?
Posted on 4/19/23 at 9:22 pm to da prophet
If HVL comes to LSU, I feel like there will be more than one big name on the team. Especially if Morrow comes too. There'll be a plethora of big names on the team.

Mulkey is going after her so apparently she thinks they can, next question
She was All American honorable mention on both All American teams. Reese was first team All American on both teams. No other LSU player received All American accolades. Of course Mulkey’s going after her.
