This one I’m not aware of but Christina’s was definitely the same building. First restaurant in that building though was Cafe St. Charles in the early 80’s.

Mark Maggio had it from the mid 80s to mid 90s. He sold it to Christina (she was actually just Christine, but Mark thought she needed to sound more Italian, which she wasn’t) who had managed it and also worked at his Corporate Drive restaurant.

Okay. The name Maggio’s is actually sounding a little more familiar now. He was obviously the next one in after Cafe St. Charles, which closed in late 1985. I wasn’t downtown nearly as much after that. Honestly the only reason I knew of Christina’s was I went down there for lunch once when visiting family, probably 10 or more years ago.

ETA- What was the place (shoe store maybe) with an airplane going through the roof? I think on Florida close to N. Foster??
There was a toy store on Jefferson at Government that had a Globe Swift aircraft on the roof. Somebody actually bought and restored that old plane. The toy store later became the Sleep Shop.

Pasta Garden wasn’t good, y’all were just kids and miss going there after baseball games. It was the lite version of Giovanni’s. And I say that with all respect to Giovanni.
