I’d like to see who was saying it all year. I’ve heard her say it multiple times but if anyone has links to articles quoting others saying it please share.

Because that's what they do!

This is the truth. The inferiority complex is in the person claiming disrespect when their wasn’t any.

Angel Reese, explaining why she taunted Clark, said that Clark disrespected Reese’s teammate whom she was guarding. It turned out that the “disrespect” was that she sagged back and left her open. That is a calculated move to help out on post defense because the other player is not a great shooter. That’s not disrespecting the teammate.

As others have pointed out, this was probably a case of Mulkey firing them up by saying, “They aren’t respecting you.” And Reese, being young, was unable to separate that from actual disrespect.

Then some national pundits turned it into a shite show.

"Respect: admire (someone or something) deeply, as a result of their abilities, qualities, or achievements."

If you leave your opponent wide open and don't even guard them, you aren't respecting them. You don't believe they can hit that shot. It's not disrespect as a person, but as a shooter it is. That isn't made up or manufactured. You always hear coaches tell their team to respect their opponent when they play a huge underdog team. Same concept.

It wasn't just a matter of Clark sagging off the PG. That's a common defensive strategy. There is a video showing Clark flicking her wrist dismissively at the point guard. And Reese's take on that was that they....she never mentioned Clark by name...were dismissing "our SEC sisters".

I really like Morris. That journey she took is rare as hell from people her age. They all want to blame the coach for tough love but she not only didn’t blame the coach who kicker off her team but sought her out to play for her again and said “she needed Mulkey in her life.” That is something you never see today from this entitled generation. And when she needed it the most it was Morris who stepped up for Mulkey at the biggest moment.

Morris has been classy for the most part. She's made a few snide comments, but not over the top, and not unusual for competitors, and she's also been complimentary. Morris is a great player, and deserves Clark's respect, and vice versa.

It's not uncommon for a coach to use that lack of respect motivation technique, yet most players don't subsequently taunt and act disrespectfully after the competition is done. I see players fight and taunt during games frequently, but once the competition is done, they normally show respect to each other. It takes something egregious, for which Clark's sagging and hand flip to another team don't qualify, to lead to any subsequent disrespect. Usually the disrespect comes in the form of not shaking hands or maybe some type of comment from a distance, but not getting in your vanquished opponents face to taunt him.

Who are these liberals attacking Reese? I've only seen people calling out the double standards. The only people I see shitting on Reese are social media.

And if you don’t sag down you are not respecting the post player. Yeah, yeah, that’s not disrespecting a person, that is, perhaps, not respecting their shooting, but that is different and you must realize that. What an idiotic point that you should taunt every player who double teams one player while “disrespecting” the one left in single coverage.

So, why is Reese saying she disrespected Morris?? This video isn't saying that!

Clark has also been nothing but complimentary of LSU.
Postgame, yeah. Her team got all 4 doors blown off.

None of the "controversial" statements/actions of Morris or Reese are based on things Clark said after her blowout loss. They are based on pregame and intragame comments.

Clark did a 30-min pregame interview before the LSU game. She mentioned LSU only once during the entire process. That sole mention was in response to a question citing LSU players taking exception to the disrespect she and her mates directed at USC.

She was unapologetic for her disrespect, had zero compliments regarding LSU, and later basically dissed competition in the SEC as inferior to the Big10. She also admitted to being a trashtalker.

You can argue the respect was "mutual." Pregame, there was zero indication of that.

Behind the manicured public image and the manufactured “disrespect” that athletes have used forever to pump themselves up, they are real people that recognize and respect other great players in private

This is honestly what bothers me about the whole thing. As this video shows, I can all but guarantee there is tons of mutual respect and admiration between Reese, Clark, Morris and all of the others on both teams. The sports hot take industry is such an embarrassment. These assholes have taken a really exciting women's tournament and what should be a celebration of great teams and competition and churned it through then never-ending hot take/culture war bullshite that permeates everything.

I don't know you from Adam. Before you stuck your foot in your mouth, you should have watched the interview.
FYI, I don't "lie." I don't "manufacture bullshite."

Here is Clark's 30min LSU pregame interview: Caitlin Clark Reacts to Making National Championship vs. LSU & "Disrespectful" Gesture vs. Gamecocks.
