It’s a weak call but it’s not like that hasn’t been called before. You can’t just throw the ball out of play

It’s a written rule that delaying the game by tossing the ball like that requires a technical…..by rule 100% correct call

The team was warned earlier about this exact thing.

Angel bricked both of the foul shots from the T.

Actually, Angel bricked the two foul shots and Alexis hit the two technical free throws. The biggest impact was the 4th foul on Clark for the technical. It definitely had an impact, but was the right call.

Like it or not it made up for a clear foul on her earlier than that down low they overlooked. Plus she didn’t foul out anyway

She didn’t foul out but she was less aggressive after that. She never picked up her 5th foul but she should have when she fouled Reese on a put-back.

Even the goofball announcers don’t know the rule book. They thought there shouldn’t have been a technical either

That was the most textbook technical you will ever see lol. Learn the game before you comment

Disrespect is a great motivator and if you don't think we were disrespected you weren't paying attention

I kind of thought so too but a coworker, who played WBB in college, was watching the game with us (offshore) and said that is called a T every time. If there had been a ref even 10 feet from where she tossed it, they may have given her the benefit of the doubt.

I thought both the warning and the technical were ticky tacky delay of warning calls. Neither appeared to be intentional in delaying the game. Seemed like the refs were pissed they had to go chase down the ball.

ETA: Of course the refs decided pretty early they were gonna make sure people knew they had made it to the Championship game. So, congrats to them on that, I guess.

I'd love for Mulkey to call out the quality of the refs even though we won.

Look, CC is a GREAT player, but she's like Luka, she cries to the refs about EVERY call. At some point they get tired of that shite and you catch one.

Her throwing the ball OOB wasn't egregious in the moment, but given the background, it was time.

They received a delay of game warning earlier in the game.
