90k a year with good benefits and possibly a pension and WM stock options

Better off doing that than getting half the college degrees out there

While I certainly agree with you, this is the OT. There is definitely an element of "I dunt need no book lernin" here.

Almost no stress, semi-regular work schedule? Might need to put this on my list for semi-retirement gigs.

We're starting 21 year old kids at $75K to go to the police academy. A 5-year patrolman will knock down 6-figures plus plenty of off-duty opportunities at $65/hour. Nobody's showing up to test and most of the ones that do fail the physical assessment because they're fatasses. Then a significant portion that passes the tests gets washed out for criminal records or drug use.

What is your definition of uneducated?

ETA: Is it a fricking stupid piece of paper?

ETA2: It’s hilarious how these pretentious fricks can never justify their piece or paper.

ETA 3: 6 downvotes & not one defense of your useless piece of paper.

The problem is everyone automatically assumes you’re mobbed up when you work waste management. It’s a stereotype and it’s offensive

Yeah that is a lie. Their own job advertisement says $20-$28 an hour for a CDL truck driver.

60 hours a week is 87k if you just get straight 28 an hour and no OT pay

And can retire at 50 with a sweet pension too. Got some kinfolks in HPD and they love it.

to put that off for a few years and do something like drive a garbage truck. Make enough to pay your way through college, move on and get your MBA.

These days - I'd need to see the degree and where it was from before I'd give the person holding it a second look.

THen, I'd have to talk to him about some common sense things to see how he is able to discuss realities.

THEN I might look at the grades and overall demeanor.

60hrs a week driving as a garbage driver is tough work. It might be mindless work but thats a tough grind.
