Has anyone had surgery to correct this problem.

No.

Iced it in the evenings. Stretched it in the AM and throughout the day and it eventually healed.

I froze a tin can of something and rolled my foot out.

Also get some shoes that match your step. Once I started using Asics Gel Kayanos, a lot of the issues got better. I buy two pair, one for everyday use and one for the gym.

There’s two ways to go with this: strengthen your feet or get orthotics.

I chose to strengthen my feet. Tibialis raises, calf raises, soleous raises, and dragging a weighted sled backwards eliminated mine. I’ll also add wearing zero drop or minimalist footwear as much as possible or exercising barefoot.

Everything said above is on point. Stretching as soon as you wake up, before the first step in the mornings, will go a long way.

I bought these inserts since my buddy recommended them and they were a game changer. I ended up buying 3 pairs and put them in the shoes I wear most frequently.

This is the correct answer. Most footwear has such a narrow toe box that it cramps the toes together. This causes the tendon from the big toe to tighten up and cause the fasciatis.

I found that getting a slant board proved to be extremely effective as well.

I cured mine with good arch shoes and a bunch of jumping rope

When you cure it do not switch back to cheap shoes or go for walks in Hey dudes too many times or it will come back

Only thing that cured mine for good as well. I’ll add calf foam rolling as well.

I'm looking at it.

I've done everything mentioned here and then some. Rest, stretching (a lot) and orthotics all help with symptoms but in my experience it isnt "curing" anything.

Mine was caused by overuse (running too much) and every time I start running again it comes back. The more I run the more pain. Tired of it.

Did nothing special and it went away on its own.

Have you tried all the other therapies?

When mine came on, I thought I was done for sure. I heard something pop in my foot. Getting out of bed in the morning was brutally painful. Running was impossible. It took months, but stretching and exercise finally resolved it. I've kept up the routine of slant board, calf raises, weighted sled, and jumping rope. All these things specifically strengthen the foot.

I have tried all mentioned and had four cortisone shots over the last two years. Thinking about surgery and I know that it is not common. Was trying to see if anyone else had it.

Yes Sir, been fighting this since 2008.

And these things do help with the symptoms but the more I run the worse it gets. And I'm certainly not a marathon guy!
Man I just want to run pain free 9 or 10 miles a week.

Same here. Can’t believe jump rope would help, but it did.

I’ve also worn this Equinus brace for 30 min/leg/day to stretch my calves and PF.

But the jump rope is what really cured my PF.

This worked for me. Shoes with support just weaken the feet. Let them work the way they are supposed to work.

Good to see a few more minimalist foot wear enthusiasts on this board. It's really hard to wear any other type of shoe now.

I had it for years, I wear Nano's, but I take off my shoes to dead lift and other leg/feet exercises. Haven't had an issue for years. Everything I see is Dr's treat it the opposite of what our natural foot condition should be. I would ice daily with a frozen water bottle and start slow, get some Zero drops and workout w/o shoes.
