I liked the show for what it was. Reminded me as a kid in the 80s watching a cheesy but interesting flick with my pops.

I did not like them humanizing the killer couple. I thought that was pointless. Hong Chau was not very good. Madam Prez was kinda hot

Good show...I had very low expectations going in, but it was very good. A little predictable, but still...

Also one thing that bothered me was leaving the cabin and just parking on the side of the road.

That bugged the shite out of me...

Ooooo buddy, you didn't notice her crying? Wife and I made fun of it constantly.

Finally got to the shipping container episode. She doesn't look pretty, I'll grant you that. A 'dash' of overacting? LOL. But a part of me is wondering if this isn't how things may look in a real life version of events. She wasn't graceful or interesting to watch, which I think is kinda the point. Do I think she's THAT amazing an actress to intentionally pull off this sort of panic? Not really.

Overall, the story is crap. The 'big reveal' between her dad and her, the GREEN terrorist group who wanted to recruit her? I don't get how this is compelling. It's like it was written by HS students trying out their first script. It's mid-tier at most.

If you want to laugh at silly point in the writing of this show then try when the VP lets his daughter out of the bunker. She had just told him that I will tell everyone what you did. Then he lets her leave. Just made absolutely zero sense like I'm not going to keep you in here because you are going tell, but I'll let you go early so you can tell. Maybe he didn't think she'd make it out in time, but that doesn't help the story much either if he was just going to let her die
They needed a code to open the secret door to get down to the bunker. I assume he knew she didn't know the code to open the door and she would just blow up with the bomb. However, they leaned into it when they showed her staring at the keypad when her dad first put in the code. She just yelled it out to the SS agent to escape.

By far the weakest point of the show. Were we supposed to be sad watching her hold her dead, murderer boyfriend in the water? Frick both of them. Hated the scenes with the assassins. Also starting to hate the girl-power shite in every show. Every female in the show is an alpha girl-boss. Every white male is an idiot or bad guy. The plot was entertaining. I enjoyed the show for what it was.

I've got two episodes left. I've enjoyed it, but man, the actress playing the Sec. of State is terrible. Totally unbelievable trying to sound like a hardass.

Just finished. Not bad but not the super amazing show that multiple people at work told me it was.

7/10. Entertaining but nothing special.

It was pretty obvious the president was the main target the entire show. Even before they revealed that it was Zadar in the cafe, my wife and I kept saying someone was trying to kill the president. The only worse kept secret was that Farr was bad.

ETA: I fricking HATED the assassin couple. And not because we were “supposed to” due to them being villains. Because their characters just fricking sucked and tried too hard to be edgy. My wife and I repeatedly made fun of the stupid “scream” the girl did after they failed in the first assassination attempt and said “I hAtE lOsInG!!”

Also, I laughed when Peter got the president as a hostage. In real life he would have been shot 100 yards away in the woods. And even if he got to the president like he did, his head would have been blown off the second he touched her

I liked it overall but it definitely slipped into soap opera level acting and writing sprinkled through all 10 episodes at weird times. Then at other times it’s super tight, well written, paced and acted.

I noticed they had different writers for some of the episodes. There is one, maybe episode 6 or 7 that is pretty wonky.

The overall plot is super over the top but I did enjoy the show overall.

The President wasn't on the hit list until late in the game, IMO.

I was saying the same thing when I watched.

Especially with the way they had him surrounded. They could have killed dude 10x before they found that bomb on the helicopter

Just finished it and gave it a thumbs down. Comically bad story and overly dramatic for effect. Didn’t mind the actors so much but my gosh, the writing was absolutely terrible. *Sutherland came off the worst in my opinion. Never really had any sort of a heroes arc, always acted out of emotion, and didn’t show much resolve or tactical acuity.

*The VP didn't have any redeeming qualities either.

watched the first episode was decent, will continue to watch.

Why is this show so highly rated on Netflix? It's the most liked and #2 in TV shows. I think it was #1 in TV shows last week when I first heard about it.

It's also the #1 popular show on IMDB.

For one thing, it has the endorsement of Stephen King, which affects people's emotions as they start watching the show, if that makes sense.

There are plenty of people who want a fast-paced thriller and aren't bothered by implausible plot points and illogical motivations.
