On episode 3. Has that British miniseries “Bodyguard” feel to it. Wife and I will probably finish it in the next 3-4 nights.
I'm on Episode 3 too. The writing is CW Network bad. It seems obvious who the bad "guy" is so I'll finish the season to see what happens. The Recruit is much better.

quote:yea casting was bad.... dianne farr was bad, "Power Asian Woman", Peter has the look but just isnt a great actor. Rose is super hot but again not a great actress.
I don’t know, I’m about six episodes in and there’s just something about this show that feels off. I enjoyed the recruit, but this one not so much. I think it’s the casting. There’s a lot of pretty bad acting…with the asian broad playing Diane Farr leading the way. I like the story enough, and I’ll finish it, but the actors are all pretty bad…and I wasn’t expecting greatness to begin with.
Yet they bring some heavier tv show actors in with Monks and Hawkins, start to build their characters, then kill them. Literally everyone died.
Also too many obvious fakeouts. Farr and Hawkins was an easy thing to see how one was bad and the other wasnt. And at the end with them wanting you to think Rose was gonna smother Farr witht he pillow was really bad. AND How the hell were so many Secret Service members compromised.

I really enjoyed it but the villains were a little cringy I felt like. The villainous couple were terrible.

It has already been renewed for Season 2, that was quick.
LINK /
The overall story was good but there was some clumsy acting/setup in the first few episodes. Like they went so far out of their way to make Robert Patrick look like a bad guy it feels like it has to be a red herring. Then they put that red herring up next to Farr and it makes you assume she can't be as good as she seems.
They do overcome that initial clumsiness by the end though. It was a solid spy thriller, but yeah, it could have been better cast.

Two episodes in this show is poo poo.

Just finished. Watched it over the last 5 nights. Without spoiling, I thought it was well enough acted and well enough written that I never once questioned whether I was enjoying it but I thought it was obvious who the ultimate target was. Last 5 minutes were superb. Love where it ended and would like to see what they can do with that.

We are 5 episodes in and really enjoying it.

Just finished it and really liked it.

Extremely over the top. Completely unrealistic. But it had me pulling for the good guys and against the bad so it was okay.

Just started it and it's not holding my attention. I was hoping for a Jack Reacher/ Ryan vibe of intrigue and action, but man, this is starting off more like a CW show.
Nothing overtly terrible, so far, but I'll give it 2-3 eps before I make my final decision.

something about this show that feels off.
I think Rose starts getting real annoying around episode 3-4. She basically transforms from being a scared child to running lead on the whole investigation, calling the shots, etc.
Overall the show is entertaining, but sort of far fetched with Rose’s character.

My thoughts exactly

Agree with that.
The Night Agent is decent, entertaining and worth watching. But the writing and some of the acting is pretty bad. The Recruit was significantly better for the same type of show.

Looking forward to this

Spoilers, obviously:
A major problem I had with the show was how quickly everyone came to the correct conclusion.
“Is that your boat?” Next scene agents are at the boat finding Peter and Rose.
“I saw her talking to her art professor and it seemed off.” Next scene or so they’re at his apartment.
And those whole season is full of these.

So far, lots of exposition and explaining about things so everybody follows along. Starting off pretty basic, save for two or three subtle #DownWithThePatriarchy snarks.
- Female president.
- agent reporting to a minority + a woman.
- overt statement about women in tech jobs… *yawn*
Nothing terribly woke about any of that or anything, individually but they still can’t get through a script without inserting this stuff.

Good show but it’s woke as hell if that’s what you’re after. Everyone in charge is a woman including the civilian, with zero qualifications, who is running the whole operation.

Oh yeah, Roses quip about assuming “ the man gets to drive”, … The show is slowly becoming so damn cringe…
And good grief, if they keep repeating “ Night action” again and again, I’m done.
