Base running mistakes. Morgan's mistake on third cost us a run. With that run, LSU wins in 9. Jobert getting picked off at first with runners on first and second to end the inning was bad as well. Would they have scored? Maybe not.
My main issue with the OP is it makes judgments on the team based on one game. Baseball is just not like that. If they win the next two vs Arkansas, that's a series win against a top 5 team.
Does LSU hit worse against lefties? Sure, like virtually every single team in the NCAA. How many teams will be able to put quality lefties against LSU for every game in a series? None, I would say.
Baseball is not football, the weight of one game is not nearly as significant. It's even less significant than in basketball, I think.

Arkansas are #5 in the country and if Morgan scores from 3rd then the game ends 2-1 in 9 innings. Arkansas will beat a lot of teams. Let's see how the series plays out before saying LSU is headed for a mediocre season.
