I am 6'2". Years ago I dated a woman that was 6'9". We thought everything was great and we would be together forever but I just could not get by the fact that every time we were nose to nose my toes were in it and every time we were toes to toes my nose was in it.

Republican men report being most satisfied in their relationships, while Democratic women report being the least. Nearly half (48 percent) of Republican married men say they are completely satisfied with their relationship with their spouse. Forty-two percent of Republican married women also say they are completely satisfied. In contrast, 36 percent of Democratic married men and only 29 percent of Democratic married women report being completely satisfied with their relationship. The Republican advantage in relationship satisfaction holds even after accounting for differences in educational attainment, race and ethnicity, age, and religious affiliation.

One of the more interesting factoids from that study, imo

My SO is 5'8. I never considered height when deciding that he was the one for me. I was more impressed with his conservative political views, faith, support for Second Amendment rights, work ethic, etc.

Which is the average height for men in America. Which is fine, it’s the online dating where women basically say no shorties, or you have to be over 6 feet. Now I consider myself short, but to a lot of women I’m still several inches taller.

My wife and I look like a very typically southern couple. My chin sits on the top of her head and I probably weigh twice what she does.

My nephew is 31, nicest dude in the world, is built like a strong safety and a good looking dude with game, but he’s 5’6. Feel so bad because he’s always single.

Nah, if all this is true, he’ll be aight (assuming decent job and intelligence, etc).

Especially if he doesn’t shun women his height or slightly taller. Hell, I always loved climbing a tree myself

Women will often say they prefer 6’ or taller, but unless they’re tall themselves, they don’t actually know how tall 6’ is. If you’re 5’9” and above, you’re probably ok in the height department. Of course you might get extra points for being well over 6’.

I'm fine with them judging men and dating them based on their height as long as they are fine with men doing the same based on their weight. The women I work with all call me a ahole when I bring up this argument.

Same. There were lots of dudes widely considered attractive in my high school that were short/stocky.

I’m 4’9”. No dude has ever been out of the running based on height, as even “short” dudes are a foot taller than me.

When titchy but famous Alan Ladd (5ft 6in) appeared in 1957 with the strapping but lesser-known Sophia Loren in Boy on a Dolphin, viewers remained blissfully unaware that the crew had dug a trench for her to walk in so that she would not dwarf the star. Similarly, in the following year's Deep Six, the director stood Ladd on a series of boxes so that he appeared the same size as his fellow actors.

Article also talks about Tom Cruise

There are a LOT of fat women on dating apps, not surprisingly.

Whatever their look is, they gotta make it work for them.

Short and tiny is cute. Short and fat, much less so.

Tall and muscular isn’t bad as long as they don’t look like an East German shot putter.

Yeah, short leading men in Hollywood has been a thing for a while now.

And on the other end of the spectrum, you get David Duchovny at 6’ or more while Gillian Anderson was tiny, which is where the term “Scully box” comes from to make them look about equal height.

They’re great at 21.
Not so much at 35.

Better ti find a girl a little on the slender side.
She will be just right at 40.

Notably, despite strong dating preferences when it comes to height, only about one in four (24 percent) women say they would be more likely to date someone taller than them
Women say one thing about their preferences...

"Yes...I'm 5'9 and yes I would date a shorter man if he was confident and emotionally intelligent".

Then ask "Have you ever dated a shorter man?".

She invariably answers "Well, no I haven't".
