For me its not about the social implications, I just found the episode a bit boring other the soccer portions and Rupert scenes.
It didn’t seem like a lot happened in 44 minutes to move the overall plot - obviously pacing doesn’t matter that much on a show like this but I did find myself zoning out a few times.
They need to keep leaning in on Rupert being evil and it’s impact on the entire cast - he crushes every scene Tywin Lannister style.

I thought it was pretty damn lame having the guy go into the stands and the whole conversation about the other "F word." All the locker room talk and speeches have become such mickey mouse "rah rah" bullshite.
Dani: "Yeah! We don't care Collin!"
Ted: "Well now, hold up...we DO care"
It felt like virtue signaling to me.
Many other things seemed to have a similar feel or were just too corny / weird. And yes, I know the show itself is a tad corny, but this was another level.
The stuff with Nate was ok though, but it was rather obvious that his story was headed that way.

It felt like virtue signaling to me.

Not to mention it was the exact opposite of virtue signaling. The whole point of this story is that Colin doesn't want this to be a big deal.
I mean they even cutaway from him telling the team that he was gay.

I'm talking about dialogue. One can watch a sci-fi movie and feel that the dialogue seemed forced, no?

No but I also don’t think a college football coach would ever be hired to run an English football team.
1. The team acts like this because Ted acts like this. They’ve changed over the seasons as they buy into the team culture that Ted sets.
2. Part of the humor is that it’s unexpected for lockeroom conversations to go like this.
Remember in Wayne’s World when Alice Cooper had a whole scene talking about Cleveland’s commerce? That was the joke.
3. It wouldn’t feel authentic to who these characters are to have any other reaction.

I fully expected 5 or 6 players, and The Beard, to all speak up in unison, "He's not gay! I'm the gay one!"
Seriously, "10% of people are gay, so chances are, it's not just one person in this room." -- if that isn't virtue signaling, I don't know what is.
The show is off the rails. First season was non-stop Ted being Ted with positive energy, old movie and song references, and bizarre logic that somehow made sense.
The last two episodes have been a decent show and story lines, but decidedly, NOT Ted Lasso.
That said, bashing on the Denver Broncos and their fans was pretty fricking good.

Really enjoyed the episode. Right up there with Amsterdam. The Collin story was told well

-As is obvious at this point, the best version of Keeley is around the team with people we actually care about
-Is Rupert trying to make a play on Jade or does he think his manager should be dating a supermodel? Before he ever met Jade, he was trying to set Nate up with Anastasia or whatever her name was. But why does he care?

Maybe but I’ve never gotten a hint that he wants to hang out with Nate. In fact he seems kinda cold towards him even though we know he can fake being charming

Agreed, I don't get it, he's acting weird towards a guy he hired to be his head coach and who is winning.
I think he's trying to break up Nate and Jade. He wants angry vindictive Nate, and Jade is softening him.

I think he just wants to control him, and he definitely sensed that Jade was an outside influence that countered his. It also gives Bate something else in his life other than West Ham so he night not be as devastated if Rupert took away that.
Remember this is what he did with Rebecca as well- pushed her to drop previous friendships that might be a countering influence to his own.
He doesn’t give a shite about Nate, but wants to own him.
