8 episode contest for up to $1m played by 16 players in teams. They are in Alaska, similar to the lone player Lost but with specific gear provided and fewer rules ie stealing and destruction are on the table.

First episode down, seems interesting.

Dropped on Netflix today

Just finished the 2nd episode and I’m calling BS on it. I wanted to like it but I should have known better than expecting a halfway believable survival show on Netflix. I’ll finish it because my wife and son like it but the last 20 minutes of the second episode was just too over the top for me.

Maybe I’m going crazy but I could have swore the premise of the show was to have a 4 person team to win the game. The tv magic of this show would make Bear Grylls cringe.

I just finished it and really enjoyed it. Definitely not “Alone” status but a good survival show. Picks up steam in the middle and has a good finish.

Was hoping for more discussion on it here

I watched the first episode and was interested, then they showed the season highlights at the end of the episode about the teams fighting and sabotaging each other. That pretty much turned me off it. Seems fake and staged.

All TV is staged/scripted at this point, if you can't take that get rid of your TV. This is a different take on the survival shows that had gotten kind of stale and I'm enjoying it so far, only 3 episodes in.

On six, there is quite a bit of crazy in the females

It was entertaining enough but it's so obviously scripted its ridiculous. I know most reality shows are to some extent but every second of this was ridiculous. Too many inconsistencies and dumb things to even list.

That said, I'd probably watch another season. I just gave up on it being an actual competition of any sort real early on.

My sister was telling me about this show last night, she said one of the ladies started suggesting a bunch of crimes because they were out in the wilderness and there were no rules. They had to tell her no you’re in Alaska.

Got to episode 6 so SPOILERS

It’s almost like after jordan passed out from starvation they took a different route and created a different kind of show and it felt scripted from then on

Odd

Went from survival to scripted reality show drama.

Chicks on that show better tell everyone it was scripted cause they look like absolute psychopaths

Agree…1st 3 or so episodes was about actually trying to survive. The rest was all just scripted reality show drama.

I’m glad the group who won did. The two alpha team girls were crazy/trashy AF

Love me some Alone so I started this one yesterday. Couldn't get past the introduction before I cut it off. Part of the reason Alone is so good is because there is no drama. I don't need drama in my survival show.

The mental gymnastics they pulled off to make stealing someones else's shite twice and sabotaging another camp, but throwing a bitch fit over another persons integrity was almost impressive.

And an admitted felon and former drug addict, laughing about stealing sleeping bags in alaska might be the least surprising shite ive ever seen.

Watched the whole season yesterday. Entertaining enough if you like survival.

They do have crew on location with the contestants and also use drones.

The only thing i don't get is why the guy willingly quit after charlie camp accepted him and then changed their mind. The first episodes note clearly stated there was no voting people off. Cost himself 250k.

that's what makes Along a great show.
While they still try to edit it in a way to provide drama at times, it's as real as it gets.

I really don't understand why they don't just keep Alone going but in different locations? Probably almost zero production cost. Just copy Alone or make it couples. Allow situations like "we just crash landed and only have these supplies" or "we went on a three hour tour but got lost".
