Anybody think the 3 weekend starting pitchers will be different once the SEC starts?

I'd like to see Skenes, Little, Hurd as the weekend rotation. Hurd is still working his way back to form and hopefully he gets there. If not Shores or Floyd on Sunday would work. But I think Skenes and Little would be a brutal one two punch on Fridays and Saturdays.

Two things. Will be very interesting to see how Hurd does against Texas. A good performance combination with an average performance from Cooper I think he moves into that role. But IMO the starters will be the same this weekend. Also will be interesting if both do well.

WE have home games Friday-Sat-Sunday-Monday then Wednesday. 5 games in 6 days. Lotta pitching opportunities.

Of the innings I’ve seen, Little looks like he might earn a shot here real soon.

Hope Hurd has a strong outing against Texas!
Really thought he would be our #2 guy!

Other than the obvious guys out of the bullpen I’d really like to see somebody else emerge as a go to bullpen arm. I’m a little disappointed in the depth on the backend. Was hopi g Dutton or Collins would have a solid year. Maybe Edwards is that guy

Johnson probably wants Skenes/Hurd/Shores. He needs Hurd to get it together, and he’ll be sitting pretty.

Probably one of them will. Give it time, Grasshopper.

By SEC play I think the answer is yes. This weekend I think you see Cooper get another start because of the amount of games being played over the weekend into next week. You have Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and then Wednesday before rolling right back into another weekend series.

I don’t think there’s any doubt. Hurd tonight. Will likely be in the mix. Don’t forget Little got the mid week start last week. Keep an eye on those two.

Yep. Someone had said Cooper was starting on the weekend and Hurd midweek in order to set up Hurd for Texas. The 4 game weekend probably factored into this as well. I don’t think Jay planned to keep Cooper on the weekend for the long run, but it’s also nice to experiment with that early.
