That is dumb. I put it up there to start putting groceries on the belt. It takes up half the space the 'right' way. If doing it wrong is wrong, I dont wanna be right.

Another thing people are doing wrong in the grocery store- push your damn cart and don't stand beside it and drag it. You take up 2/3s of the aisle when you stand beside it; show some damn courtesy and don't take up any more space than needed.
And when you pull up to a red light don't leave a car length between the car in front of you, and you, so you can check you phone and not risk hitting them. All that room you and the others are leaving (and the fact it takes you five seconds to look up from your phone and realize the car in front of you have moved) means I don't get through the light when it turns green.
I'll be 51 on Friday; it feels good to now be able to complain as an old man.
Now get off my lawn!

At Total Wine, they generally keep the sensor covered, because the conveyer belts are so abrupt, they make wine bottles fall over. I make sure to put my purchase where they can reach them.
