Just think how good he could be if he pushed himself to compete and make the us Olympic team rather than be gifted a sweedish spot

Yeah. Really being pushed when he dominates every meet I’m he is in, breaks the WR a few times a year, and easily win gold in the Olympics and world championships with no one within about 6” or more

You're either trolling or a legit idiot on this subject.

used the LSU brand

Just another dumb statement. If anything LSU USED his brand because he already help WR for U20.
He was all freaking world and could have easily went pro and never go to LSU like LeBron did the NBA, but he did anyway.

Let’s put it this way, T&F is MUCH more followed and a much bigger deal in Europe than the US. He is equivalent to ANY Major Star you name in sports there.

People here do not appreciate it like they do.

hopped out and back to his country when it was convenient.

Another dumb comment. He trained here, went to LSU 1 year and then went to train for th Olympics because he wouldn’t have to go through the trials and Sweden gave a shite about T&F making him wealthy.

So awesome. Dude is a world class GOAT.

Also, like high jumping, I find pole vaulting almost incomprehensibly foreign and difficult.

I have no idea how they do that shite, and Mondo is in a class of his own.

I’m with you. Born, raised and educated in this country. But now he’s repping Sweden?
I just lost interest.

DAMN!1 he's clearing the bar by at least a foot - at this rate he'll die of old age before he reaches his ultimate potential.

Sergey Bubka broke the world record the first time when he was 21 and the last time at age 31. Overall in that span he broke the indoor record 18 times and the outdoor record 17 times. If Mondo stays motivated and healthy, he will be breaking the record for a while.

I bet Louisiana seems so far away

1. US Men's Pole Vault team is not that good, so not sure why keeping him here to train at various cities would be beneficial to him.

2. Sweden Athletics will bend over backwards for Mondo to do as he needs in order to win, whereas USATF would try to take every single dollar that he has and limit his sponsorship opportunities.

3. He earned his spot in Sweden. It's not his fault that Sweden has no Olympic Trials meets due to the fact that they are not deep in every event like the US.

4. 99.9% of tRant would not plan to watch Mondo on TV even if he were competing for the US unless it happened to be on during the Olympics, so why do you care?

I read a year or so ago that there's prize money each time he breaks a world record. If so, he will make bank by just going up 1cm at a time.

Does he quit trying at each meet when he breaks the record?

Yes, that's standard practice in pole vault and high jump

No idea what this means

That whole team cheated with several getting busted. Said they ate Yams and that’s why they ran so fast. Bolt was not tested like other athletes and was a strong opponent to testing. His arse cheated BAD

I wonder what his actual personal best is. He's broken the record 6 times, each time beating the old record by 1 cm. Great for marketing, but I wonder what he could do if he truly went for it.

I think he actually gets paid every time by country, sponsors, or both. So strategically makes sense to creep up.

Scary if you get hurt though.
