Depends on where you are. If you never leave Anchorage, absolutely. It's trash.

If you want to experience AK, avoid the Anch-Fbks corridor.

California for me and it's not close, although I've visited most other states.

Just so many diverse areas, from rural to metro to desert.

Mountainbiking down from a 9,000 ft butte, hiking the Pacific Crest, whitewater down the N. Fork of the American, climbing in Yosemite, skiing at Heavenly, surfing at Santa Cruz, they've got it all and I love it all.

And the cities are iconic, Golden Gate park, the tarpits, diverse food and music, Air B&B's in Laurel Canyon, the Whiskey, the Saloon or Ravens in SF...and on and on...

Oh and I like wine. Like a lot. There are 200+ wineries in a 15 mile radius of Paso Robles of all places.

Now if you could get rid of about 1/2 of the people and their laws, then I could live there.

Utah, Oregon, or Colorado.

Been to Oregon and Colorado during summer, never been to Utah in summer.. which I hear is the best.

The whole coast outside the major cities is awesome
Palm Springs is nice

Even the agriculture areas inland have a certain charm

LA and San Fran ruin the state

Probably Montana but California is pretty solid also. Only been in Alaska for a week so never really saw much of it.

I liked rural parts of North California, New Mexico, Arizona, Oregon, Colorado..

I don't like cities in Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, southern California, Michigan..

Yup. We've been in an apartment in Southeast Boise the past few months. Finally closed on a house. Didn't expect to be living out in Kuna, but the amenities the house location provided based on our lifestyle was just too much to pass up. It's still only a 30 minute drive max to downtown because we can avoid the Meridian craziness since we're on the eastern part of Kuna.

I have long since stopped travelling outside of the South but I thought Wyoming and Montana were beautiful.

Vermont. Other than the liberals there it’s gorgeous. Lake Champlain and Burlington are beautiful.
