Deion Sanders looks for ‘dual parent’ homes in QB recruits, ‘single mama’ households in DL

When asked whether recently retired quarterback Tom Brady’s record of seven Super Bowls would ever be broken, Sanders said no one will be willing to make the sacrifices necessary to surpass him.
"This culture ain’t built like that," Sanders told USA Today Sports. "This culture wants every darn dime it can get. So, you have to sacrifice some things to be in that position, and I don’t think this culture is ready to make those types of sacrifices."

"Well, we have different attributes. Smart, tough, fast, disciplined with character. Now, quarterbacks are different," Sanders told Eisen last week. "We want mother, father. Dual parent. We want that kid to be 3.5 [GPA] and up. Because he has to be smart. Not bad decisions off the field, at all. Because he has to be a leader of men.

Then, for defensive linemen he wants "single mama, trying to get it, he’s on free lunch," Sanders continued. "I’m talking about just trying to make it. He’s trying to rescue mama. Like mama barely made the flight. And I want him to just go get it."

Deion is slowly becoming a favorite coach of mine. Dude keeps it brutally real.

Reminds me of the scouts at the beginning of Moneyball

As a life long Buffs fan, I agree with this approach. Sko Buffs

Is he the only coach that is allowed to say that?

I can only imagine the backlash if Kirby or Saban said this any non-AA coach for that matter.

Single mothers are about to lose their shite
I’m sure the data will back his QB requirements though

Much like the N word, only black coaches can say that type of stuff

Pretty much. I imagine if these statements came from Brian Kelly the public reaction would be much different

Reminds me of George O'Leary checking the color of the players' gums.

funny enough both the black QBs that just played for the super bowl are dual parent and one is a coach's son

Does one of the scouts on the left leaning in look a lot like Jimbo Fisher or is it just me?
Posted on 2/17/23 at 11:05 am to Eric Nies Grind Time
I kinda see it

He’s right. Look at the QBs that succeed in the NFL and those that don’t. Nobody wanted to coach Kyler Murray this year bc he’s not a leader and he’s not smart and he’s not disciplined

I wonder how many all American and NFL All Pro QBs came from single mother homes
