Everyone is saying if he can just hit .250 we will be ok. What proof is there that he will magically turn it on?

Hit .174 this fall and .100 this spring. He’s going to have to produce against SEC pitching just like we have so that’s not an excuse. He also didn’t play in the summer because of injury.

Season totals each year
.186
.135
.227 (all against non-conference)

Not here to bash a kid. But if Neal is as good or just below him defensively and hits .300 then what say you?

Are you seriously asking this question?

There is no proof. We are all hoping he hits over .200 because that makes our team better. If another catcher is better to put in the everyday lineup, then it'll happen. People like Milazzo because we just spent an entire year watching catchers drop fastballs that hit them in the mitt. Everyone will just have to wait and see, because 95% of this board has never seen Neal play baseball before.

So fricking what. He's still going to play. Neal is still going to play. Travinski is still going to play.

Except you started a thread just to do it.

I’ll bet you he doesn’t hit 150.

Milazzo won’t hit .150 & Neal won’t hit .300.

So they’ll both play.

Not really. He posted his stats and asked what we think of another player getting playing time above him…

Truth of the matter is, he’s really fricking good defensively but is a huge liability at the plate. It is what it is

It's unreal. Just punching at air about what "people are saying he will hit" when people are saying he will play because of his receiving.

I fricking hate our fans.

Hope not

It's possible he does, especially if Milazzo handles Friday night catching duties. Neal won't have to hit against other teams' aces

He asked if there is another guy that plays defense as well as him and hits twice as well, who we would like to see play, as if he didn't already know the answer.

We all know this.

If he's the best catcher and the other 8 in the lineup are hitting like they are supposed to hit, I really don't care what his average is.

Now, if we turn out to have other holes in the lineup besides his bat, then yeah, put someone else back there.

Yall forget so quickly how McManus and Travinski were able to give up free runs last year. If Neal is as bad defensively as those two (I've never seen him play so I have no idea) then we won't care if he doesn't hit .150 in this lineup

ProjectP you need to calm down baw. Just because someone isn’t pumping sunshine up someone’s arse doesn’t mean he is being a douche bag. He’s simply stating his opinion…

Then you play them both and use Neil as often as possible in the key games.

Making up a non-existent argument (that people are claiming Milazzo will hit .250) to start a thread shitting on Milazzo isn't "stating an opinion". It's manufacturing bullshite.

When someone has to proclaim they aren't bashing someone, it's because they're bashing someone.

And this is after several weeks of being told that every catcher on the roster will play.

Yes. I have a hard on for the guy I've said will only play because of his receiving and will get less than 100 plate appearances all season.
