Minnesota, New York, and California
Everyone I know that’s big into cooking and preparing food hates electric.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration reports that at least half of all American homes utilize natural gas for such purposes as air and water heating, which makes up at least 15 percent of all natural gas use in the United States. Air heating that utilizes gas is cheaper than electric systems due to being more energy efficient, thus leading to them being the more popular option, especially for low-income households.
Such bans began gaining more widespread attention, and broader left-wing support, after the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that it was considering banning gas stoves nationwide, allegedly due to the effects of such appliances on the environment. The study that CPSC cited as a source justifying such a ban was partially funded by two far-left activist groups that are pushing for a transition to electric.
“Natural gas is our cleanest fossil [fuel] and it is responsible for the U.S. reducing carbon dioxide emissions more than other country, largely because we have centuries of the stuff.” said Dan Kish a senior fellow at the Institute for Energy Research. “God blessed North America with enormous energy wealth, and our only impediment is power-hungry politicians who want to make energy more expensive and more foreign, while bossing Americans around by telling them how to heat their homes and what kind of car they can drive.”

I have to figure Texas will be the last state on that list. Good to live in Texas.

Enjoy your rolling blackouts due to your increased strain on the power grid.

Do they make electric ranges that are any good now?

I'm guessing the states with the strictest lockdowns during covid will be on that list.

Yep it will eventually come down to charging your Tesla for work the next morning, sleeping in the ac , taking a hot shower or cooking a meal. Can’t have that many high amperage appliances running at once.
Homes are going to need load shedding switchboards before long.

The proposed San Francisco law applies to Furnaces and Water Heaters. It specifically excludes gas ranges.

The rules would not apply to gas stoves.

They'd have to pry my gas water heater from my cold dead hands.

Texas senate and governor elections have been in that 52-48 range lately, too close for comfort.
Places like the Dakotas, Wyoming, MT and SC, AL, MS and maybe FL if another DeSantis developed in the south will be the last refuges.
But trust me, a federal ban in 10-20 years is more than likely.

It gets cold in parts of Northern California.
Electric heat pumps are insanely expensive to operate. So I guess everyone should go full on 19th century install a wood stove. Because that never polluted any old European or American cities.

Whelp. Ain’t moving there. Cooking on electric sucks arse.

And expensive battery walls.
It’s kind of stupid what we are doing. But no one seems to care.

Not only that, in crisis scenarios (especially winter ones), there's nothing like knowing your hot water heater, stove, and oven are all gas-operated.
Hell, throw in a natural gas wall heater and it's been very clutch in bad situations.

Idk about that. I think the only people in congress who would vote for something like this are the ones in very liberal states, and that isn’t a lot.

Those Western states you mentioned are being flipped and have such small populations it won't take much to flip them.
Montana is cowboy California Vol. 2, a neo-Colorado.

There is a push for induction. PBS all about it

It’s states that’s populations are fleeing from. Weird

It's stupid for when you have extended power outages. At least with gas you can cook, boil water, etc. Usually don't lose both at the same time at least not around here.
