The Lincoln Project has repeatedly defended Trump against DeSantis recently. They want him to be the nominee. Rick Wilson and Reed Galen view him as the weaker GE candidate. That should tell you about their thought process. Wilson admitted as much and said that if DeSantis were to win the nomination they would then hope Trump would throw a tantrum and fracture the party to take down Ron in the GE.
