Just out of curiosity, what do you predict would’ve been the outcome of the 2020 election, every single fact and factor remaining the same except substitute Desantis for Trump?

Look no further than this thread to see why it will be almost impossible for us to win in 24. We don’t stick together. Dems stick together even for an idiot like Biden. Then there is the stolen election. Deep State will never let Trump win and if Ron is not establishment they won’t let him in either.

There are folks on this board not far from or very near Trump’s age saying much worse.

One could ask the same about forever Trumpers you ask one question that is even construed as constructive criticism towards Trump and forever Trumpers chimpout and either call you a RINO, say you got TDS, or You just don't know what you're talking about he's making a chess move and keeping his enemies close or some other bullshite.

I don't know and it doesn't matter. Trump has only shot himself in the foot over and over again since he lost.

The midterms were an awful look for him and a preview of what a '24 general election would look like

I would think it does matter if the assertion is that Desantis can outdraw Trump in overall voter support. I’d think the candidate who garners the most votes would be the most viable. Could Desantis get to the 74 million that Trump got? It’s a fair indicator.

Ok let me approach it this way: do you think Trump would’ve won had there been no such thing as covid or any pandemic at all? And the irregularities and special allowances that were instituted using covid as the justification? In other words, take away any and all special allowances involved in that one election, would Trump have won, in your opinion?

Win in the rust belt states and neither AZ or GA matter. That’s my concern with RDS. I don’t think he can win up there and I have concerns if any federal Republican candidates can win in AZ and GA with the democrat machinery. Wisconsin likely goes to Trump in 24. PA is the big one though and I think Trump gives us the best chance there.

Do you not understand the difference between endorsing someone in a primary and stumping for that person in the general election?

It would have been close either way. Trump had a good economy but he was still unpopular overall.

People really forget how unliked Hillary Clinton was. That's how Trump won in '16

But if you want to call RDS a Rino be prepared to get called on your stupidity.

I’ve never called RDS a RINO. I actually am a huge supporter of his, but he needs to finish out his term as Florida’s governor and then run in 2028. I think RDS will have a career trajectory much like Dutch Reagan did after he left the California governor's mansion. However, I think many in the RDS-never-Trump group are RINOs. I think they are attempting to use RDS for their own agenda.

You guys will ride this horse right to the slaughterhouse.

Republican primary voters believe Trump won the general election in 2020. They believe he won in Arizona and Georgia.

They will never buy the Trump is a loser argument.

They believe Trump should be in the White House tonight. I'm not talking about nutjobs I'm talking the everyday Republican primary voter. Hell, half of Democrats believe the election was rigged but they don't give a shite.

It's one thing to say we need to move on, it's entirely another to tell people Trump lost and the election wasn't rigged.

Is Desantis going to stand on the stage with Trump and call him a loser? That will go great let me tell you.

Send Desantis up there to sound like Pelosi.

The whole premise shows how out of touch the establishment is with their own voters.

That’s their excuse used in an effort to quell their embarrassment, but I don’t buy a single tiny bit of it. So Democrats sent her to the nomination in the primaries yet changed their minds for the general? I hardly believe they somehow disliked her enough to knowingly and willfully torpedo their best shot at securing the holy grail “first female President in history”. Seems preposterous. Not to mention her opponent was even then being framed as a racist, misogynist, “pussy grabber,” accused of numerous sexual harassment or assault claims (all bullshite of course). No way do Democrats sit idly by and acquiesce in Trump taking the victory.

To cut it short (too late amirite, lol) by far the most rational conclusion is that Trump simply out hustled her and out gained her in crucial spots.

Your talking stats. 18 bellwethers lost for the first time, in 2020, out of 19 bellwether counties for the last century, in choosing the prez. Our country is going through birthing pains and our leaders are worried about polls.

Polls > morals, in their eyes.

^Excellent analysis. I think many fail, myself included, to realize what an actual Trump vs. DeSantis primary would involve. It would destroy the GOP.

You are wrong. In everything you just posted. We have a broken government, that they say what is right is wrong and wrong is right. You lack a moral compass. We want righteousness to avail.
