He's a spiritual dude and is going an alternative route. I personally think the norm is a shitty route, so I like where his head is at on this. Who knows where or what it brings him. Most people couldn't sit in silence for 4 days unless absolutely forced to (myself included). Choosing to in order to see what you find is admirable in my opinion

I agree people could benefit from this experience. We are dopamine addicts to our phones, internet, porn, etc. This is basically a detox of everything to slow down your mind. If you want to see what five days in a place like this here’s a video from the Yes Theory YouTube channel. LINK

Also, it's not an ascetic experience outside of the darkness itself. Like, you have plenty of food and water and you can lay down and sleep on comfy beds and stuff like that. I frankly am more terrified at the prospect of a silent meditation retreat than a darkness retreat.

Is it though? Maybe he wants a break for the overstimulation of life that being a really famous athlete is. You have no idea what the guy may be dealing with upstairs. Maybe he just wants to completely unplug.
