What self defense ammo do you keep in your AR?

How much stock to do have on hand for said ammo,
I use 75 Gr Hornady black 223. I have around 300 rds on hand. I have plenty of FMJ rounds but thinking I need more of the self defense ammo.
Hornady makes a 75 Gr interlock round designed for SBR's. Anyone use this stuff and is it worth $1.30 per round.
I keep a MK18 Clone next to my bed with a full mag with 2 more in my nightstand.

Use this ammo on an SBR at night and you will be blinded by muzzle flash after one round. Try shooting some at night and see.....or rather not see.

I have two mags loaded with federal fusions they are for (deer, pigs and others) I have probably another 2 mags worth in boxes.
If it gets worse than that I will have to rezero my gun to the stockpile of 1-2k plus of random cheap shite I have bought over the years.
I hope it don’t get bad enough for me to ever unload my two mags..
Also have a 6.8 with two mags of 120gr hornady sst,, I will grab it first.

If the shite hits the fan I’m going with the FMJs to get the job done. Stocked up back when the prices were half what they are now. The Federal 223 box of 20 used to be 5.99.

154 gr soft points in the 7.62x39 chambered AR. My go to load for all critters regardless of leg count.

As my USMC nephew says after touring Afghanistan, just shoot regular FMJ ammo. Good enough to kill a Haji, good enough to kill anything back home.

Have 5 mags loaded. However in the house I’m going for a 12g

77g Razorcore 556 or 75g Hornady black 223 are about the best Black Hills clones you can find regularly available.
For reference, 77g Black Hills is what most of special operations uses in 556 platforms.

If you go through 300 rounds of self defense ammo (and are still alive) you'll have collected enough weapons and spare ammo from the corpses that supply isn't going to be an issue.

The potential problem with 55 or 62gr FMJ is that it's inconsistent. You might get a good yaw and it tumbles and drops someone, or you might make a hole the size of a pencil clean through them and miss vitals. I never felt outgunned with it and I sure as hell don't want to be shot by it, but stateside there's not a good reason not to use a good soft point or OTM.

holes. Multiple. If I have to defend myself with any firearm, I aint shooting just once. So if one round out of the bunch is more cosmetic than devastating, I'm sure the other 12 or 15 will do the trick.

unless you're hunting and need to take a long range shot, just load up on the cheapest. Self defense shots are going to be close range or they won't be considered self defense.

77 grain Black Hills hollow point. As some already mentioned if it’s good enough for SOCOM it’s good enough for me.

Are those even available anymore? I searched everywhere a couple months ago and came up empty.
