It really is pitiful, and the same people will get rustled when similar shite is thrown their way. It is a cycle and it is stupid.

I hope this doesn't happen not just to avoid loss of life and property but so as to avoid California people migrating to TX. We're full.

When was the last big earthquake in a populated area of CA? I don't remember one since the one during the World Series

Im not sure how accurate those richtor scale ratings are for the Missouri quakes. There seems to be a wide range of guesses.

I'm sure some are aware, even yourself, and understand the gif goes with the theme of the thread, but wasn't that incident caused by faulty engineering/resonance caused by vehicle traffic/ high winds?

Or am I thinking of a different famous cable bridge going crazy?

This was the very first lecture in grad school for structural dynamics. The wind loading caused deflection which matched the natural frequency of the bridge, leading to progressive oscillation and eventual collapse.

Tldr: the wind (and poor lateral bracing) brought it down .

It would be great if a 17.8 hit directly on Hollywood Blvd

Yeah, great. My daughter and her husband would almost certainly die.

Bruh, Richter scale is based on log 10. "1000x's stronger" than a 6.7 would be stronger than 9.7.

The 7.8 in Turkey was about 12.6 times stronger than Northridge at 6.7.

Do I trust a guy who started his post with “Bruh” instead of “Baw”?

On the other hand, he seems to know what he’s talking about.

On the other hand, his name is “Galactic Inquisitor”.

No it would just swallow up the record labels and major studios, it’s all good.

Its going to happen one day. Where? Who knows but the fault lines under CA are real. Look it up. I wouldn't want to live there because of that. (among other things like people crapping on the street)

FFS it's used as a frikken joke like the Bugs Bunny sawing off Florida gif.

I seriously doubt if anyone that jokes about it would push a button to make it happen if one existed.

Obviously Memphis.
