Missouri legalized recreational marijuana....a local news crew went to a dispensary.

In the last election Missouri legalized recreational marijuana, I questioned at the time if legalized weed would begin a shift from MO being a pretty conservative state to MO shifting purple and eventually Blue. Well, that is to be determined but it was interesting to hear a local news crew in KC question some people standing in line at a dispensary that was officially opening last week. One of the young women standing in line was asked if the legalization of marijuana was a step forward for the state and she answered she has hopes the legalization of marijuana will lead to a less conservative society in MO. Some older black man stated he thinks the use of marijuana will take some of the violence out of society ......ya know, mellow people out. Most of the people that had the mic shoved in front of their grills didn't have much of an opinion on what the legalization of marijuana means in MO other than ending the incarceration of Missourians for something that should not be illegal.
It's going to be an interesting thing to monitor over the next 5-10 years and see if States that legalized recreational marijuana begin shifting more Blue.

Really shouldn’t be a left or right issue. Same as alcohol.

There is a documentary about this and how the lobbyists bought and paid for alcohol to be legal and pot to not be legal.
I don't care about pot being legal, but people should be held accountable for actions while smoking.

High fructose corn syrup has already made this nation fat, lazy and unhealthy. Nothing like adding marijuana to the food pyramid. Fat, super lazy and unhealthy and you are a perfect corporate and government slave. You are an easy subject to control and manipulate.

Why should it be illegal?

Im sure it will be this thats the tipping point and not the multi generational cradle to grave handout system where 50% of people in the United States are a net negative to society.
More freedom is never bad.

Most of the largest cities in States are were the Liberals reside.
KC wouldn't be a good gauge. That's like going to Austin and asking if Texas is turning Groomer. The larger cites just contain more of the cesspool.

Should be legal everywhere, Arkansas has medical only and it’s just a government money grab. You have to pay hundreds of dollars to the state to renew your “license” every year and there’s a 15 percent tax on everything you buy.

I could eat a couple of OC 80's everyday, get high as F and still be 100x more productive than the fricking obese welfare leeches that inhabit this nation.
This is fear porn bullshite.

It's funny how public perception becomes reality. There are a lot of issues that shouldn't divide us as a nation, but people that benefit from controlling these substances have narrative control.
The mainstream media is owned by a handful of corporations. These entities decide how to manipulate the people. They are still deciding how best to benefit from the legalization of marijuana. The socio economic and political affects are still being explored.

Ok and? Cost of doing business brah. It still needs regulation; otherwise, some dumbfrick is going to lace it with fentanyl and people would be bitching b/c it wasn't regulated.

It only happened with CO because they were an early adopter. With so many states legal now, it will not make a difference going forward.

Fear. Covid, weed, phobias everywhere. Marijuana is mild as shite.
Conservatives should have led the charge for legalization. Small government and all.

People seem to have a really weird cliche opinion of what people who use weed are like.
I know quite a few people who use it regularly and are effective at VP or C-level jobs, workout regularly, etc. Most people who use it are not sitting around listening to Marley and watching anime.
It's an incredibly boring drug. I think the tropes about stoners and stoner culture came more from it being illegal and thus something to desire and fetishize. Legalizing it makes it clear how boring it is.

They really should. Conservatives are slow to change things though. I've been saying that Conservativism needs better PR for a long time.

As long as St. Louis/Kansas City don't grow at the rate Denver and Atlanta have, Missouri will be fine.

Marijuana legalization is a conservative policy.

“Medicine,” their words not mine, shouldn’t be taxed twice as much as everything else and you shouldn’t need a license to get it.
